guys like pavlik and de la hoya who almost exclusively knock down and parry punches will always get the short end of the comubox stats compared to guy like mayweather who just make guys miss alot

taylor and pavlik were dead even on landed shots but pavlik landed at least twice as many truly effective blows in the fight.

taylor was landing jabs but pavliks were perfect stopping jermain in his tracks and straight on the tip of the nose too. i swear a couple times it was so nice you coulda drawn a perfect straight line through pavliks shoulder, elbow, fist and on the tip of jermains nose

that was one thing i thought was terrible with taylor, nothing was truly straight all night. his jab lost its snap after 3 rounds and he just cant throw a STRAIGHT right hand and pavlik was just knockin those sweeping shots down and walking through em

Or, if they like/are enamoured with the fighter, give him the benefit of the doubt. I dont like it, but its similar to veterans getting called for less penalties than others in most pro-sports.
