    Solving the Pacquaio Puzzle

Skeptics like mysef, believe Pacmans' obsession to be the "busier" fighter perhaps unlocks the vault to weakness. No doubt about it, he puts relentless pressure on his opponents. Is this a strategic counter to hide evident flaws. We all know he puts out punches in high volumes, but is this a display of skill? He conditions himself to throw countless punches enabling him to overwhelm his opponents. Could a complete boxer dissect the ever pressing pacman? Skill-wise he was no match for Morrales in the first outing. He was outboxed and hit with the harder punches. He overwhelmed Marquez from the opening bell, until Marquez settled and outboxed him. Simply put, should Barrera employ his skill, he will come out the victor. As far as ability Barrera is a better tactician. Are we so consumed with volume that we refute the obvious? Volume vs Skill

I agree with the overall sentiment of your post! While I do think that Pacquiao has some great skills (notably his footwork and combinations), it is his physical conditioning that enables him to employ them so well! A lot of fighters have similar skills to Pacquiao but cant sustain his intensity! Roach basically admitted it himself by constantly stressing that PAC must force Barrera to fight every minute of every round! Once PAC's physical prowess declines fractionally I think we will see him in closer fights than the last few!

I think the Marquez fight, more than the Morales fight, show your point best! After the demolition job in Round one, I thought PAC effectively got schooled! There isnt a person on here that could honestly argue that Pacquiao was on the same technical level as Marquez!!! PAC's big problem in that fight....compared to a fight with Barrera, is that Marquez is a supreme physical athlete who could fight every minute of every round for 15 rounds! He is also bigger than Barrera and physically more secure at the the weight!

In this fight I think you will see Barrera have some success against Manny! But it will be in the last third of the fight that Pacquiao will dominate! I also think it is in these rounds that the KO is most likely! MAB doesnt have the Physical strength or stamina to close the deal! In his prime I would love to have seen this fight!!!!!!!!!!

Pacquaio is admittedly a very rare type of boxer. And with his gifts he easily overrules basic boxing laws like getting counterpunched to death.

His skills center of speed, quickness, stamina and non-stop punching. He started at flyweight yet he brutalizes legit 130 pounders, no flyweight has ever done that and prolly no one will.

His percieved weakness of being over agressive is also his greatest strength. He escapes most counter-punches because he has very quick feet and reflexes. He sucks his opponents into a slugfest by applying a lot of head and shoulder feints, lateral movement and the negation of an orthodox jab by using a right cross.

At this point in his career Pac cannot be defeated by simply boxing him and counterpunching him. He is simply too fast, too powerful and will bring the pressure non-stop. Morales showed how to defeat Pac. Engage him, push him back, take risks and attack. But that will mean you will have to go into a slugfest.

Make no mistake. Pac has skill.

He has enough skill that will make orthodox jabs look puny and useless. Enough skill to slip punches in between high guards. Enough skill to punch at any angle.

Pac's fighting style can be dissected by a great boxer who could work around the volume of punches and outbox Manny...But the boxer will have to fight essentially that perfect fight since Manny has never shown in his fights that he fades down the stretch...He brings the power and speed for 12 rounds and always seems to wear down his opponent down the stretch...Manny is very beatable because of his style, but you need to essentially fight the perfect fight since Manny's power and endurance forces you to be on your game for all 12 rounds - one mistake and you can be on the canvass like that...

the minute he sees pacquiao on his toes pawing with his jab the straight left hand is coming in bunches , if he stays on his toes and bobs to his left he'll win a sd.
