Underated fighters

Yeh well i guess that was a given. Since he was only new to the sport with 4 amatuer fights. He had to improve at some point and he has been improving steadily for the past 24 months. I think we will see him at his peak over the next 18-24 months. Hes still young in this sport.Comment

I think Cotto's resume certainly beats that, but maybe not.
HOWEVER, I think it is a matter of time until Williams surpasses Cotto.
Mayweather vs. Williams I think is the real test of the king of welterweight.Comment
How is Winky Wright under rated? The guy has been in heaps of big fights in the last two years and been in the P4P list since beating Mosley.
Mundine?
He's yet to prove himself on the world stage. He's lost his biggest fights in Kessler & siaca and struggled to beat a journeyman in his last fight. In saying that he's rated #3 on Boxrec. So I think he's rated pretty well considering.
Yes he lost to Kessler and Siacca, but struggled in his last fight? he bowled over Soliman, the same Soliman the the p4p great(supposedly) winky barley got by.
If the eye heals up he will shock everyone, because one the the champs - calzage, kessler, wright, maybe a Dawson or Pavlik will challenge him thinking its an easy belt at SM, and he will punch holes in them, he has all the tools necesary to be a serious p4p top 2 or 3 fighterComment

There is no way that Winky is underrated. If anything he is overrated. Near the top of everyone's P4P list based on a two and a half year old win over Felix Trinidad?Comment

That's why I say hes underated. Everyone seems to abuse his resume.
Yea he hasn't fought the best, but he has taken prospects in his weight class.
Paulie is now a champ, Torres is now a champ. Hes fought decent competition.
Now when he beats Mosley people are still gonna talk ****. That's why I say hes underated.
After Collazo, people were extremely high on Mosley. He was the guy who could beat Mayweather.. Mosley was back and better than ever.. Ect.
It's a small phenomena. The turnaround was sudden.
Most of these people shooting down Mosley's present state of condition are Cotto fans.. Another decent number are just working off of this blind assumption that Mosley is over the hill.
I noticed it happening - but I've heard so much of the talk I'm starting to forget myself what the truth is.
All I remember now is being pretty shocked at how fast, fluid, and explosive Mosley was in against Collazo. The HBO team was all over it. It was a good win as far as I was concerned.. Granted, it will be 9 months between Collazo and Cotto but at least we know Mosley isn't damaged. He was still slugging in the 12th.. Fully charged.
Cotto's supporters are discrediting a guy who looked pretty damn ****ing good his last time out. They're going to diminish the victory of their man if Cotto comes through. Likewise, Cotto won't be much better off if grandpa Mosley spanks him silly.
The talk is lose/lose.Comment

Disagree... as overrated as Cotto's resume is. Williams has beaten a Sharmba Mitchell who is moving to his retirement home next week, an unproven (still) Matthysse, and one good win over Margarito.
I think Cotto's resume certainly beats that, but maybe not.
HOWEVER, I think it is a matter of time until Williams surpasses Cotto.
Mayweather vs. Williams I think is the real test of the king of welterweight.
i believe nobody in the welter class can beat paul williams and they know it thats why nobody wants to fight himComment

ok resume wise
sure hes overrated if you look at it that way and im NOT a williams fan but i have to say ability wise with his size and amazing stamina he is not overrated at all and the most feared person in the welterweight divisionComment

He may have good stamina and he has an obvious size advantage but really he just isn't that good.Comment
