  • PAVLIK was trying to SHOW OFF!!!!

Look at the Replay RIGHT before that 3 punch combo sends him down!!!

I didnt even notice that the million times ive seen it before.

Pavlik was CLEARLY in trouble at that point, and stuck out his head like "you didnt hurt me" and was probably going to stick his tounge out if he could as well, but JUST as he did that Taylor WHACKED him with a jab and then 3 more shots and down he went.

Watch the replay im not even kidding.

He was probably doing it to try to get Taylor to lay off him, or to get Taylor thinking that he wasn't really in trouble. But it cost him. Woulda gone down anyway, just a ****** move IMO. idk what he was thinkin

          I got that one too.
Steve Smoger blocks most of the punches with his fat ass.

They both hit hard, right know though, Pavlik is the hardest hitting middleweight, that's for sure.

Actually I know for a fact what happened. Right before the combo that knocked Pavlik down, taylor hit him with a pretty hard elbow.

It was blocked but you can see immediately after that, Pavlik says something like "****in elbow" and he kinda stopped defending as Taylor then cracked him 3 times.

I watched it a few times and I'm certain that's what happened.

I like Kelly Pavlik believe me I do but after downloading the fight, a big thanks to ljr06 for uploading it, and studying it I can't help but still feel like Jermain ****ed up, he dominated the pace in the 5th round, he showed ring generalship, whenever he was backed up he threw a combination of punches and got out of there, he just basically was good at not getting hit and he had the tools to keep doing so yet for some reason(which the commentators spoke on) Taylor get's cornered and jumps into fight mode, he got hit with wayyy too many unecessary blows because he didn't move, plain and simple they could have ALL been avoided if he didn't moved and actually grabbed up BOTH of Kelly's arms when he tied him up and not let him land those clean blows, those mishaps by Jermain which for a fighter of his calibur are BIG mistakes allowed for Kelly to over land, land punches would have landed anyway plus the ones that landed due to Jermain's **** ups, thats twice a beating that could have been all resolved by upper lateral movement, middle of the ring fighting, better use of his jab (better than Pavlik at least) and overall a better flow in the ring, instead he fed into a war with a warrior, he brought a knife to the gunfight and got shot..

I don't wanna take nothing away from Pavlik, I have made that crystal clear but someone of Jermain's calibur shouldn't have been so brutally beaten, those error's led to him getting hit more and the acumilation of punches led to a lame response to a situation where he was REALLY hurt, he got hit with a 1-2 and the 1st thing he did instead of bobbing and clinching or **** it if you THAT dizzy fall down, he moved back and took another 1-2 which is prepostourous, on top of that he leans on the ropes and KNOWING that he's hurt he stays up to take them blows instead of taking a knee or trying your complete best to clinch him, there was no "put up" on Taylors game when he was cornered, he just stood there and balled up which is a NO NO on Taylor's part, he's shown the type of skills in the past to get out of tough spots or find ways to regroup but this time he just stood there and took the beating, I don't know what he was thinking..

..some of you may dislike Mayweather but he is a smart man, in the only true knockdown in his career he took a knee due to prevent further damage, he didn't wait to get hurt for REAL to retreat for a second, a smart man who ended up winning the fight however here you have Jermain Taylor, someone fully capable of putting on a boxing lesson, he gets caught on the ropes and doesn't get out of there, allows himself to get hit MANY MANY times by unnecessary blows and this is after a round (5th) where he showed he can dominate the pace, he COULD have continued to do so but didn't and that one mishap on his part cost him the titles, no discredit to Pavlik because in order Taylor to have gone down Pavlik must have thrown the punches but I'm saying Taylor's mishaps contributed to him getting knocked out too, it allowed for MORE punches than what would have landed if he stuck to slick movement and listened to Manny.. 100

Bad instincts. He took the first big punch and got scared. As soon as he turned his body that little bit as he moved back I shouted "He's done." Some guys just don't like getting beaten up. That's the kind of thing they never come back from.
