Now, I have not read anything on the message boards, or internet sites since friday. This is all my opinion and my views on last night's fights. Please feel free to throw in your 2 cents if you havent already.
1. Pavlik-Taylor: Great fight. The best middleweight title fight in the new century. Taylor started real strong and real fast. I was impressed on how he wanted to **** with the ****er. I am sure he won a few fans and nobody can question his heart now. Pavlik put up a tough, strong fight. Pavlik was outworking Jermain and proved he was the stronger of the two. Taylor is the better pure boxer when he wants to be. Pavlik out-jabbed his opponent. This did not bode well for Taylor. Taylor should have been jabbing and moving all night. Hell, he tried to lay on the ropes again. To all fighters in the future, do not lay on the roped against this big, white boy from ohio. You will not survive. Jermain did impress me with his power. He backed up Pavlik at moments and hurt him in the 2nd. Hurt him bad. Those punches had bad intentions(pun intended). Pavlik went down like a sack of potatoes with arms. Great heart from Pavlik to survive and take the fight in the seventh. Boy, that right hand plus flurry was beautiful. Jermian should have taken a knee after that right hand and compose himself cuz I did not want to see that fight end. The fight had evertything, and again nobody can question Taylor's heart. This could be the first fight in a classic trilogy.
2. Berto did well. Dude showed that he can start fighting some better opponenets now.
3. King Kong is the man.
4. Chad Dawson made quick work of Mendoza. This only made me yearn for a dawson- diaconu match-up, but we will have to wait for that. "Bad" Chad "Awesome" Dawson is showing the rest of division to look out and take notice after every televised fight cuz he is here to stay. I dont rememebr him being hit clean either. Dawson wants Tarver. Tarver dont want Dawson. Dawson should take a dangerous fight with Glen Johnson in 08 to solidify his claim as the best of the 175ers.
