Remember after the Tyson-Lewis fight when Mike said that nearly every punch that Lennok threw hurt him and he was basically out on his feet in the 2nd round and was just fighting on instincts? I think thats how Taylor was.
I dont think people realized how flush he was getting hit with and how solid those shots were. I try to be a student of the game and you could see that every shot was hurting Taylor. He tried very well to show a good chin and pretend it was bothering him but if you really look at his face after every big right hand then you could see that they were stunning the **** out of him and he was basically fighting on instincts. I think he was hoping that he would muster up another barrage like in round 2 but deep down he knew by the 3rd round that Pavlik was going to win. Even after the fight he said that he felt that he was losing and I could tell that he felt that way because of those shots he was taking. He had never been hit like that. Pavlik has those heavy hands. That **** probally comes from lifting those ****in tires and ****. You can tell that his hands just stay on you and covers up your whole face.
Still, its Taylor's on fault for not improving at all on his D since turning pro. How can you still at this stage consistently drop your left hand. Unlike Floyd, he drops his left hand and does no shoulder roll. Infact, it seems like he drops it and leans forward. Pavlik punished him with that straight right and you could tell that every shot was hurting him but he was fighting through it because he had so much pride and wanted to win this fight so bad but it wasnt going to hold up just like Tyson couldnt. Infact, I actually felt the same way about Miranda. You could tell that every shot Pavlik hit Miranda with hurt him but he just lasted so long because he was undefeated, had a ton of pride, and was built like a truck. You could see it on his face though that those punches were killing Miranda and that he was also basically fighting on instincts from very early on. Both of those guys were somewhat out on there feet for a long time. Not in the normal out on your feet way when your just completely out of it but like your in a constant daze. Taylor wasnt as bad as Miranda was because he just ate everything but he was still bad off
