Anyone Else Feel Bad For Taylor?

I wouldve felt bad for either guy in this loss because you can tell that there genuine good people. Both hardworking from a lower class background and very respectable as men.

I have often said in the past that I actually think that people would talk more favorably about Taylor had he not gotten the nod in all of those decisions. Its almost like he gets penalized by the fans & media for getting those nods. If the decisions were switched to 3 losses against Hopkins & Winky then everyone would be praising this kid for having heart and saying that he is the most dangerous guy out there and no one wants to fight him. There would be a million articles about how great of a person Taylor is and how he deserves to be rewarded. Its like he gets penalized for trying hard and doing his best.

Then you watch the Countdown show and you see how his neighborhood basically turned on him. There all mooching all over him when he's destroying guys then they start ripping him behind his back when he's a super great kid. You just know there all laughing at him and dogging him right now. The same people who boost you up are the same people who love to tear you down.

I think it wouldnt have been that bad to me if he had just lost the fight but the way he was limped over in the corner like a dead body was just a sad ending to everything. You could see the sadness on his face and he was still very respectfull to Pavlik and gave him all the credit. Thats another reason why I like the kid. Even when Taylor use to put on good shows he would talk about all his flaws in the post fight presser and apologize for not doing as well as he thought he should. Then when he gets ripped, instead of firing back like most guys would do he always takes the blame and says that he shouldve listened more or done more.

If there was one guy who I could take him losing to that way then its Pavlik. He's kind of like the great white hype right now but I actually think he's more then that because I think alot of blacks & minorites can relate to him, from his background & struggle. He almost seems like one of those white kids that would have no problem hanging around alot of blacks and being himself at the same time.

I also feel bad for Taylor because you could tell that he wanted to prove something. He wanted to prove all the many crictics wrong wether there in the media, fans, or from his hometown and for him to get KO kind of validated what alot of them were saying and you know thats eating him up. I could see it on his face. To also know that you had a chance to stop him in round 2 makes him feel even that much worst. The reality is that Taylor might be done. Its hard to emotionaly come back from something like that. It was almost like Taylor against the World and the World won. Its hard to get back up from that

Anyone who knows the background of Taylor would probably feel a tinge of sympathy for the guy. And it doesn't help when you think about the fact that the guy was ahead on all judges' cards before the stoppage.

I think he will be back a wiser and better fighter after this loss though.

I felt sick yesterday. However I am good now it is boxing, everyone has lost and he will bounce back, where the rematch will be one hell of a barn burner.

I feel the exact same way but i think people need to get off the "Taylors finished" thing. The man was a title holder and his only loss has been against a very tough opponent in probably one of his best performances in a long while.

If he or anyone around him (manny steward?) allows Taylor to slip out of the boxing scene because of one loss, in a match that could have gone either way at some point, I will have no respect left for him or them.

Thankfully in my mind the odds of that are pretty much nil.

I couldnt believe it when the ref stopped it.

            Pavlik earned it though.

Just got through saying the same thing. I feel really bad for him but hey. I like Pavlik aswell. If Pavlik would have gotten ruined in the 2nd round, his career would have been thru. I was really surprised too, Jermain was hurt bad. I wish that he could have just lost a U.D., but I guess that wouldn't have been plausible..

This is a sad but accurate quote.

I love Taylor more than I thought. I felt about as bad after this loss as I did when Castillo lost to Hatton. I hope Taylor will come back. He wasn't deadly KOd like Roy vs Johnson, so aylor is far from done in my opinion.

The move up will help him, like Cotto's move up helped him. But Taylor has to learn how to relax in a fight.

I dont, if u saw the press conference after the fight u wouldnt either.

Taylor showed TONS of class and gave Pavlik his props.
