There are a few problems:

BHop would outbox him and neutralize a bit the fact that Pavlik throws twice as many punches as him, but only a bit...on the scorecards Kelly will be favoured in the first 8 rounds because of his huge punch output

Winky, I'm not sure about him, his last performance wasn't good and he is aging too

Abraham, fights in spurts, on the scorecards this fight will go with Kelly, Abraham has a good chance at knocking Kelly out tho.

Taylor, close fight again

Sturm, outobxes him, but Sturms chin will give Felix problems for 12 rounds, I don't think he could back up Kelly and the referee will stop the fight in the middle rounds

Calzaghe wins bigtime against Kelly

KESSLER, too

Haven't seen enough of Lee and Lorenzo


That said I really have to say I enjoyed the fight and both fighters made me a fan.
I also liked Taylor's ellbow attack against Pavlik right before the knockdown, which didn't land and he also headbutted Pavlik but that didn't hurt him, too.

Pavlik made a fan of me tonight....He showed heart and determination....but skill he didn't.

And guess what, in the rematch..Taylor will be weary of Pavlik power and Pavlik will be just as weary of Taylor power.

Cong**** Kelly, I betted against you but u pulled through but one thing is for sure....

Kelly Pavlik can be out-box and if he fight Taylor again, he is going to outbox him (althought the fight will be close agin) because well of his explosiveness.

The thing about Pavlik is that he's a accumilation puncher so anyone thaT can avoid prolong damage will beat him.

I had Taylor up by the time of his TKO AND the fact that Taylor wasn't give a 8-count and Kelly was is still mind-boggling (more on that later).

Please keep Pavlik away from Abraham (who will outbox him), Hopkins (he would neutralized Pavlik power AND Bhop has a beard), Sturm (who would outbox him), Calgazhe (who would outbox and outwork him) and Kessler (who would MURDER HIM!!!!).....Taylor ( I see him winning the rematch).


Pavlik last 4 fight, his TKO have come when his opponent are against the ropes, the guys I mention above will stay away from the ropes and Pavlik hit them and they don't go anywhere.....he is done because they will outbox him.


PAvlik will only be able to beat the John Duddys of the world....and I've been saying all along that Andy Lee and Lorenzo pure boxers with speed and actual power as well will KO Pavlik.

Pavlik chin is suspect (he's been tagged by Berbuch, Zuniga, and McKart) for being taken down by journeymen so Lee and Lorenzo will **** him.

Pavlik has average long jab (which Taylor was slipping in the beginning)..and his right cross .

Taylor is an idiot because the one thing that he should have done is hold and survive but he didn't do it. I still would have given him a standing 8-count because ..

a) he's the champ, benefit of doubt

b) Pavlik got one.


If Pavlik get by Taylor in the rematch (which I don't think he will)...Arum will put him in with the John Duddy of the world.

I think that's what most fighters think of him as well is that skill wise and athletically he is nothing special, but his heart and determination usually comes through. Plus he's active and very accurate with his punches. He's the champ now and lets see if anybody can knock him off.
