I really don't see Calzaghe knocking him out, Joe rarly does that, so what makes you think he'll do it verse Pav.
Calzaghe has won 43 (KO 32), all at super middleweight.
I do believe he doesnt possess the KO power he once did. But he has better power than Taylor IMO.

Also, i wasnt impressed by Pavliks speed. If Taylor almost KO'd him (but punched himself out), Calzaghe would KO him eventually.
Calzaghe would fight in close, and landed frequently.

I've always thought Taylor's power has been greatly underrated, you could actually see the hurt on Taylor's opponent's faces, even Pavlik's many times last night, when he connected even with his jabs. Pavlik is obviously stronger, but IMO Cal isn't. I think if Taylor won, people would have a tough time predicting who'd win a fight between Taylor and Calzaghe. Somehow, Pavlik who dominated Taylor, doesn't get his props.

Pavlik is taller than Cal, he showed nice handspeed and defense last night, notice how Larry Merchant said Taylor's many punches didn't connect that much in the opening rounds (yes he scored a knockdown, but punched himself out after that). He showed good form in rolling off Taylor's punches and countering not to mention his great activity even with his nose constantly dripping. Pavlik isn't easilly stunned, so the low impact flurries Cal is famous for won't have Pavlik backing down, Pavlik in fact doesn't back down! The only advantage I see Cal having is experience, but will experience help him survive against the arguably biggest punched in the MW division...time will (hopefully) tell

            Calzaghe would absolutely dismantle Pavlik.

I'll hold my opinion until after Kessler-Calzaghe. Joe Blow could apparently knockout Jesus Christ and Godzilla in one day by reading through the forums recently.

Calzaghe is pure class. A great champion. No doubt in my mind he wins this in the opening rounds.

A lot of people here are over-rating Pavlik.

Very tough guy with great power & detemination, good stamina & chin, but let's get a little realism here.

Only way Pavlik wins this is if Calzaghe is seriously on the decline.

Too many angles, too much experience, & simply too fast for Pavlik at this stage of his career.
Will probably be able to rock Calzaghe a few time - Pavlik thows a lot of punches & some are bound to land - but Joe's got an excellent chin.

                  Very wide UD for Calzaghe.

I dont see anyway of pavlik winning this fight. yeah he would make the fight exciting with his consistency but joe will dominate with his superior boxing skills.
