Pavlik is weak against flurries, which happens to be what Joe is very good at. Joe would school him, however Pavlik only needs one good shot to change the fight. I still think Joe would beat him though.
This could be a great fight as well. The combination punching of Calzaghe could effect the slower Pavlik and not give him time to get off his punches. The thing is though Calzaghe with his hand troubles could break his hand and that would present him problems. Plus nobody has seemed to take Pavlik's punches over a period of time. He wore down both Miranda and Taylor to KO victories in the 7th. I still feel though Calzaghe will use his hand speed to his advantage and win a close SD. Even though I wouldn't be totally suprised by a Pavlik KO sometime in the middle to late rounds like he usually does.
Exactly there's gonna be a point where when he's pressuring your gonna be fatigued a little. And boom that's when he strikes. This guy can punch and box on top of that. People need to wake up and smell the coffe. Cal is not really a power threat. And I think he could get a decison. But once agian a guy who's not accustomed to not getting hit will be in trouble once he finally does. Because Pavlik works behind the jab.
Although this is becoming more true, how many Calzaghe fights have you seen?
Joe has been knocked down a few times in his career, if Pavlik catches him with one of those right hands, which I'm pretty sure he will, escpecially since Joe is a lefty, it's gonna be lights out for Joe..
Twice. Each time he was back up at the count of 3.
Seriously, this would be a nightmare for Pavlik. He's much better off staying at 160 and building a legacy than trying to mix with Calzaghe. Mind you, if he gives Taylor a rematch I can see him losing again straight away .. for my money Taylor was way ahead on points (for the first time in a long time the judges had it pretty much as I did) and am amazed how many had it for Pavlik.
