Calzone is a different class. Pavlik hits hard and that is by far his greatest asset. But Joe wouldn't give him a chance to hit him. You cant strike back when Joe is hitting you with so much leather.

Pavlik isn't seasoned enough to take on Calzone at his weight.

This fight would go pretty much the same as Kal - Lacy. Kelly is far to slow and static for Joe. He would take a hammering just like Lacy did.

You gotta be able to land those bombs, or THEY don't matter. I don't see what Pavlik brings to this fight, that Lacy didn't. So unless Calzaghe is declining, I don't see Pavlik as the man to challenge him.

EXACT same words were used to describe Taylor.

Difference is Joe is a hell of a lot smarter fighter than Taylor.

Joe has been knocked down a few times in his career, if Pavlik catches him with one of those right hands, which I'm pretty sure he will, escpecially since Joe is a lefty, it's gonna be lights out for Joe..

Pavlik brings lots that Lacy didn't. If fact, I think Joe and Pavlik have a lot in common (other than Euro ethnicity).

First, he shows-up conditioned and ready to fight, every fight. So, he's ready to be competitive for 12 rounds. 2nd, he's naturally heavy at Middle, just like Joe is a natural SMid, while Lacy is puffed up by weight routines.

Lacy waits to "set up" after a guy throws a few punches. Pavlik and Joe then more to wait for an opening during or at the end of the opponent's action. It's a totally different offensive attitude and style than Lacy.

Pavlik and Joe are "throw back" fighter's who move forward and grind for 12 rounds, throwing at a steady pace. Lacy has a modern look and tends to rest too often, allowing the throw-back guys to get in a few solid scoring punches.

and taylor almost knocked him out in the second round so what makes you think someone whos tougher, punches harder and more skilled than taylor wouldnt ko him?
