Would A Rematch At 168 Change Anything?

Honestly, I cant even remember the last time that the loser won in the immediate rematch. The only time the loser comes back to win is when a rematch is a few fights later. Guys have such big egos that they cant believe they lost so they want a immediate rematch and the 2 losses really sets there career back. The problem is that they think that this 1st loss already sets them back and if they dont take the immediate rematch then it may be a long time before they get back to the top.

Therefore 9 times out of 10 I always say that you shouldnt have the immediate rematch but this is that 1 time where I think the loser should do it. 1st off Taylor already said he was going to move up after this fight anyway. Lets face it, he wanted to move up for this fight right here. The other reason why I approve of it is because the 160 pound division is pretty weak right now. There's really no one else for those guys to fight and there is not 1 guy at 154 who could move up and challange those guys. Thats why they should fight at 168 because both guys probally need to move up there anyway to get top fights. They say that the contract clause calls for the fight to be at 166 but I know Taylor would want it at 168. Pavlik should do the same. I mean, if he wants the winner of the Calzaghe fight or Winky, or Hopkins then more then likely it will have to be at atleast 168 so he should fight Taylor there and get use to the weight against a guy he already beat. I actually think that a rematch at 168 is the best move for both guys

I doubt the weight changes much if anything. Although its entirely possible that Taylor could win a rematch. He was up on most scorecards afterall.

if taylor does not throw enough punches like he did in this, he won't win in any rematch with pavlik... round 2 was his best and that was pretty much it... he was really not able to capitalize on it...

I dunno, but I look less at the weight than at Taylor's having been too much a sucker for Pavlik's right. Manny and Jermain should get back to the gym to work on that.

That said, I await the rematch eagerly.

nah, the rematch won't change anything. taylor could be winning the fight on points and pavlik could hit him with the right hand and knock him out. at 168, pavlik will also be stronger. both these guys should be fighting at 168 anyway
