can all you haters like taylor yet?

after fighting hops x2, winky, ouma, spinks, pavlik in succession can everybody stop hating on jermain taylor. classic example of how good losing can be for a boxers career. He was in a hell of a fight and threw down with the biggest middleweight puncher.
hate to do it but its like a certain p4p king fighting
cotto x 2, oscar, hatton, judah, and margarito in succession

To tell the truth, I don't see many fighters going undefeated against all those fighters straight, Taylor came out with one loss and he fought great, he doesn't lose my respect and Pavlik gained another fan with that performance.

Taylor has received deserved criticism because of some dire performance in the ring but there is no question that he put alot of effort in tonight and nobody who watched the fight can feel hard done by.

Taylor fought the best. Who did Floyd fight with Hopkins or Wright's talent? No one. None ever.

I have a lot of respect for Taylor after this fight. He stood there and ****** with a monster puncher. He all but had Pavlik put away in the second round, my heart was racing I couldn't belive it I was screaming at the tv, it was surreal. Like I said, this version of Taylor beats 99.9% of middle weights. Unfortunately for him, Pavlik is a beast. I hope Taylor can build on this and improve his game at 168. A rematch somewhere down the road would be awsome. This fight was like a 2007 version of Hagler/Hearns imo.

I've been saying that Taylor isn't a boring fighter... he has just been fighting people that make him look that way.

now thinking back, ever since hopkins, taylor has been fighting top fighters, but more importantly every fight after hopkins has been a close fight or war like. What this means is that if taylors people really cared for taylor they should have gave taylor a fight where they are sure he will ko a guy. Get his confidence up high. Taylor had pavlik hurt and didn't press, pavlik was brought up very good, sure he fought miranda before taylor but he dominated miranda then ko'd him. usally when a fighter ko's another his confidence goes up, somthing that may have been missing from taylor. taylor did come in the ring like a fighter that is doubting himself and in that ring, one can't have no doubts becuase those doubts will appear in the middle of an exhange where you are gettting the worst of it. For pavlik this fight puts his self esteem(in the ring terms) really high, fighters who usally get to this level the way pavlik did ussally dominate for a long while. If the rematch happens and Taylor loses again, pavlik will be king for a long efn time.

And why are people mentioning calzaghe? Let him face Hopkins, a fighter he could have faced a lot earlier. Why pick on the young face of the middleweight division. For years calzaghe was fighting no names, or the names of europe and not america. calzaghe needs to defeat kessler then hopkins.

first off, name someone, ANYONE in floyds divisions who are even close to that level, because floyd is pretty much the only one on that level. Mosley isnt, DLH isnt, Cotto isnt. Those guys are in a class by themselves, wright and hopkins in their losses were NEVER dominated, NEVER knocked out, and always kept it close. So those are terrible examples.
