    Hopkins: I will fight Calzaghe

    FrankWarren.Tv

Bernard Hopkins insists that he does want a showdown with Joe Calzaghe - but says the Welshman will have to come to America to fight him.

Calzaghe-Hopkins has been in the pipeline for years, with Hopkins previously pricing himself out of the fight.

But he now says he would be keen on a meeting if Calzaghe beats Mikkel Kessler in November - and the terms were right.

"Let me set this straight once and for all, I don't mind fighting Calzaghe but not until he stops making demands," 42-year-old Hopkins told Boxing News.

"I mean, I don't have to and won't go to Britain to fight no one. Who are they to make demands of me?

"I'm the name who makes pay per view numbers. I was very impressed with his performance, but as far as I'm concerned the only recognisable names on his record are Charles Brewer and Lacy."

Yep Hopkins you always talk a good fight about wanting Joe. So get on your bike and stop talking and get with it and make the fight. I suppose Hopkins recent good performances against Tarver, Wright have given him some dutch courage that he was lacking.

I really want this fight to happen.

My heart says Hopkins, but my mind says Calzaghe. Either way I hope Hopkins makes Calzaghe look bad like he does with his other opponents.

Also for people who are like "Taylor should fight calazghe!11", he should get the loser of Kessler vs Calzaghe, while Hopkins gets the winner (assuming Taylor wins tommorrow, but I don't think he will.).

That's kind of a weird way of looking at it...

Winner of Taylor/Hopkins fights loser of Calzaghe/Kessler.

Anyways, Hopkins/Calzaghe, I would have to go with Hopkins. Obviously Joe has all the advantages, except for one. I don't know if he is going to be able to stop Hopkins from controlling the entire fight, like he always does, against all his opponents. No one has really been able to figure out how to stop that, except for Jermain Taylor, and he only really figured it out in the second fight, because he was able to keep fighting his fight the entire time. Hopkins shut Taylor's ass down when he wanted to in the first fight.

FYI - I scored both Taylor/Hopkins fights for Taylor, for anyone who thinks I am biased towards Hopkins. I just thought Hopkins got started way too late against Taylor in their first fight.

No what I meant was, the winner of Pavlik vs Taylor facing the loser of Kessler vs Calzaghe. Though seeing as Pavlik wants to stay at Middleweight and if he wins that pretty much destroys that option.

So if Taylor wins in his upcoming fight, he should get the loser.

If he loses, then rematch at 168, or if he doesn't want that, he should fight Lacy.
