Yeah I wouldn't really argue Taylor being more tecnically sound. He is very ****ing sloppy. Especially in the OUma fight he was throing his whole body into his punches and stumbling all over the place. And against Wright he practically placed a welcome mat over his face for the jab.

And people think Pavlik is a brawler. If you have seen his last fight or even the one before. He is not wild. He throws effective combinations. And nice and hard straight punches. I have seen Taylor wing plenty of punches from his hip. So I wouldn't consider Taylor the better boxer at all. The only thing I'll give Taylor is his speed. And he neutralizes it by fighting out of the corner instead of the middle of the ring.

      Lefthooktothebody,
Nicely said! If you look at their last 3 fights, both Taylor's and Pavlik's, then you definately get the idea that Pavlik is the better boxer. People could argue that Taylor faced Ouma, Spinks, and Wright and that they are all lefties, that's why he struggled but the reality is that his balance, his technique, his stance and posture all looked very amateurish. Should we all blame this on the opposition? I mean Ouma not too long ago was koed by Karmazin. Spinks went life and death with Mayorga, got koed by Judah and then somehow pulled a close, ugly victory over Karmazin. Wright is the exception here meaning that he's really good but he at least allows you to trhow everything you want and still Jermain looked completely amateurish. Taylor's just deteriorated so bad that right now he's at the point of no return.

Yeah I agree with you, Taylor time is now, I truly believe he will show the world what he is made of and hush up all of this redundant speculating. Boxing has been waiting for a great white hype for some time, they r starving and desperate for a good white fighter! I hate to tell ya but he won't get past Taylor. All of Taylor's last few fights don't have nothing to do with this one. U can speculate all u want, say this and say that but this Sat your "great white hype" better be ready for combat, this isn't some rigid Miranda who will stand there and take blows all night. I hope Pavlik ties up his two left feet, cause he is in for a long night. Taylor is too motivated to let this one slip.........

I'd hardly call 16-10 a landslide, though it is a wider margin than oddsmakers have it (even, or Taylor a slight favorite). I agree with you and the oddsmakers in that it's a tough fight to pick (though my pick has been Pavlik even before the fight was made official)

What shocked me is that a site whose name seems to be filtered out on this board has a clean sweep for... TAYLOR. I expect Pavlik to get some extra love from those otherwise on the fence but fed up with what Taylor's had to offer in the ring since winning the title. So a clean sweep for Taylor (esp. on that site) is pretty much as far against the grain as you can.

BS writers need to put the crackpipes down. Good lord. The # of Pavlik's by decision is ridiculous. If Pavlik wins it's because he's got a good punch and JT's got a suspect chin. Pavlik will never win on points. No way, no how. He's go slow hands and not the greatest style. JT can easily double jab his way through rounds w/ a few straight rights to win a UD or late knock out even.

Sammy Rozenberg - Don't believe the hype, Jermain Taylor will box Kelly Pavlik's ears off.

Short, sweet, and to the point.

What is wrong with all you racist mother ****ers, I'm ****ing white and I think taylors going to win. Like alot of you are posting racist remarks saying that white people are looking for a great white hope. I'm ****ing white, and I'm not looking for a great white hope. And I'm far from being a ******. Sorry for my comment but it pisses me off that some of you are targeting white ppl, saying white ppl are looking for the great white hope. I am not looking for that. I have taylor winning a decision.
