    Mosley vs. Hatton.....Spring '08

I think it is appropriate to discuss the possibility of this fight for several reasons:

    1) Hatton can possibly beat Mayweather, and a somewhat greater possibility exists that Mosley beats Cotto. So, it would be a "last man standing" type of scenario. Mosley has said that he wants Mayweather, but if Hatton destroys PBF, then SSM-PBF is no longer a viable fight.

    2) DLH has said that he wants Hatton. But DLH has also said that he intends to fight THREE times next year and Oscar is notoriously unpredictable. His stated intentions are rarely accurate predictors.

    3) Stylistically, Mosley-Hatton is an attractive fight for the fans who like "toe-to-toe".

    4) The converse of #1 is that Mayweather beats Hatton and Cotto beats Mosley. Both defeated fighters would be looking for bouts, and SSM has stated that he only wants big fights as he approaches retirement.

    5) Hatton clearly likes (so far) doing business with GBP. This would be another opportunity for a GBP event that benefits RH, SSM AND ODLH (as the principal).

How would you see this fight going?

How would YOU promote this event (location, venue, date, weight - 147?, etc) ?

Well if Hatton were to spring the upset and beat Mayweather, a fight between him and Mosley would take place in England.

Mosley looked not very good in disposing of Estrada and Cruz at 147. Looked ****ty actually to put it lightly. But at 147 Hatton is out of his element against naturally bigger guys. I think Mosley would dominate him..

Oh and this all depends on how Hatton performs against Mayweather. If he DOES win, I would put him as the betting favorite.

But as far as now...my predictions are up top.

Mosley vs Hatton would be a good fight to have in England. Would fill a 50,000 - 60,000 seater stadium easily.

I still think Mosley has a few good fights left in him and will beat Cotto. If Cotto can not get hurt early and work the body hard he could very well stop Mosley though. I would love to see this fight but i would much rather see Mayweather VS MOsley/ or Cotto.

The last time De La Hoya mentioned Cotto was at the press conference for Mosley vs. Cotto at the House Of Blues some weeks back.

Since then all he's talked about is fighting Ricky Hatton.

If Hatton gets past Mayweather; (and Oscar is now making it seem like it's a foregone conclusion that Mosley beats Cotto) Oscar will step in himself and **** everything up and take the Hatton fight.

Personally, I think it's PATHETIC the way De La Hoya has this penchant for fighting guys who are naturally much smaller than he is.

Disgustingly pathetic. It's a damn joke..
