    collazo-clottey purse bid

    Collazo-Clottey purse bid!
A purse bid was held today in the IBF Office for the IBF welterweight eliminator for #1 between Luis Collazo and Joshua Clottey. Top Rank was the sole bidder with a bid of $35,500.

wtf? you mean they got to split a $35,500 purse? talk about getting underpaid. w/e for a check and a title bout.

i beleive thats the bid for the promotional rights.
the boxers purse has to be ironed out in the contract.

i wonder why collazo's promoter Don King didn't bid.

Nope, the bid is the amount that will be split among the fighters. I don't know what the IBF's rule is for an interim title, but if it involves a champ, he gets 75% of the purse bid and the challenger gets 25%. This might be a 50-50 thing since neither is a champ.

theres no way they gonna split 35k.
this fight will probably be on a undercard of a payper view fight and they gonna split that amount, theres no chance of that.
