The Mecca of boxing, Madison Square Garden will host WBC No. 1-ranked Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter and heavyweight challenger Jameel McCline when they fight for the WBC Interim Heavyweight Championship. Opportunity knocked for McCline after WBC titlist Oleg Maskaev injured his back in training last week. McCline, who had been preparing for a bout against Vitali Klitschko (slated for Sept. 22, but sc****d due to Klitschko injury), is ready, willing and able to make the most of his world title shot. gotta admit i'm a little pissed. i bought tickets to this fight and i wanted to see peter win the title against maskaev. when i heard he pulled out i hoped peter would fight tua or mccall, but mcline isnt that exciting too me. i dont know wheter i should get my money back or go to it.

then again, the fight may not be that bad. Mecline is 6 inches taller than peter and has 6 inch reach advantage and is pretty skilled so he is very capable of giving peter a very tough fight as long as he doesn't get hit by a bomb. I doubt he will be beat peter but that would suck big time if he does cause then Wlad will pretty much be the only important heavy out there. Don't know whether to attend this or get my money back and put it towards cotto-mosley tickets which i will probally get anyway, any suggestions?

I could see Sam Peter ending this one early; the guy’s been waiting almost 10 months for his shot and has something to prove here. If Mccline doesn’t get off to fast start, I don’t see it going longer than 5 rounds. I think Mccline’s only chance is to get into rhythm and keep on the offense…
