Solis pulls out!
IBF light flyweight champion Ulises Solis (25-1-2, 19 KOs) has pulled out of his October 4 title defense. with a shoulder injury. Replacing Solis on the Las Vegas VERSUS card is WBO super flyweight champion Fernando Montiel (34-2, 25 KOs), who will defend against Luis Melendez (25-2, 20 KOs).
Maskaev vs. Peter postponed!
The October 6 fight between WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev (34-5, 26 KOs) and mandatory challenger Samuel Peter (28-1, 22 KOs) has yet again been put on the backburner. Maskaev reportedly injured his back and ankle in training.
Dawson vs. Diaconu cancelled!
Next week’s WBC light heavyweight bout between champion Chad Dawson (24-0, 16 KOs) and mandatory Adrian Diaconu (24-0, 15 KOs) has been cancelled. Diaconu apparently suffered an injury to his right hand in training. Dawson will still make a defence of his title with Epifanio Mendoza (28-4-1, 24 KOs) stepping in as replacement (Fightfan).
We can only hope that the month of October keeps our Boxing adrenaline going for highly anticipated bouts starting in November
