I was just reading an article about Quintana and Miranda on another thread, which got me thinking about the quality of opposition that Cotto has faced. Just recently, he's faced 5 undefeated fighters in Quintana, Malignaggi, Torres, Pinto and Maussa with Paulie being the only one to stay on his feet after the 12th round. Maussa, after the brutal beating that he absorbed, went on the knock out the very, very highly regarded contender Harris. Malignaggi is a champ now and I believe Quintana could still make some noise.

What sticks out his record is that all of his top end opposition has been destroyed. I am thinking of another fighter at welterweight who's been treating his opposition in a similar fashion and it's Margarito.

Malignaggi is overrated IMO. Not saying he's bad or anything like that, but Cotto should have taken him out easy IMO. (speaking of Malignaggi...I know Cotto's good.)
