No Golota For Peter, McCline is Possible

Sources close to the situation have informed BoxingScene.com that Andrew Golota (39-6-1, 32 KOs) will not be the opponent fighting Samuel Peter (28-1, 22 KOs)on Showtime's Oct. 6 event at New York's Madison Square Garden. It now appears that Jameel McCline (38-7-3, 23 KOs) is the new frontrunner to land the WBC interim title bout. McCline is currently scheduled to see action on the undercard against DaVarryl Williamson. [details]

LOL - we've had it rough for a little while, haven't we? All the way back to the Ponce De Leon fight was it for major events?

Somehow Huerta on VS. and Rahman vs. Ryan. have still left me wanting lately for world-class boxing

Mccline i dont know about him. He looked great against Valuev (not too hard to do) he might be in his prime right now but who knows? The brock loss and byrd loss both were highly questionable (more byrd then brock) but I still see Peter coming out with a TKO.

Golota's a freaking maniac, that guy shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a ring rather than a top contender like Sam Peter. Who ever even conjured this fight should be shot.

They should bring in a youngling by the name of Denis Boytsov to start cleaning out the division.

They can even give Alexander Dimitrenko a shot, why not?
