Mayweather Hatton: Toe to Toe Battle?

Whats with all this toe to toe ****? I am asking because even before PBF said he would go toe to toe with Oscar and Hatton thats all most people complained about besides his attitude. Fighting toe to toe isn't the only way to win a fight. Also fighting toe to toe doesn't mean both guys stand there punching the **** out of each other. Toe to toe is also standing in front of your opponent making him miss and making him pay for missing. PBF has been known to do the latter. You can't discredit a fighters accomplishments because he doesn't fight the way YOU think he should. All PBF does is win and thats what is most important.
Sugar Ray Leonard is a all-time great and he didn't go toe to toe unless he had to or he had somebody hurt. SRL was a boxer first and foremost and if he could win the fight boxing instead of going toe to toe thats what he was going to do. Yall complain about how PBF fights but yall never complain about how SRL fought Hagler or Duran in the second fight. Whats the difference?
Would yall feel its right for people on your job to complain about how you do your job even though you getting the job done? Think about that **** for a minute people complaining about the way you SUCCESSFULLY DO YOR JOB. How that makeS any sense is beyond me.Comment

I agreed with everything u said, up until your last paragraph. Floyd is getting paid millions to be a boxer/entertainer. Depending on your job, your not required to entertain people. As long as the job is done, your superiors/check writers cant complain. Now if your in the show buisness, then its all about attracting viewers and putting asses in seats. Floyd has been succesfull (post gatti) at putting asses in seats, but alot of that credit would have to go to him having an appealing opponent. Floyd drew quite a few attracters for the Baldo fight because everybody was expecting another "Gatti ass whoopin" performance, but they got the exact opposite. Judah/Floyd was always an interesting matchup. Then u have Floyd/Oscar. That fight reached its magnitude due to the amount of promotion, marketing, and having the cash cow Oscar as an opponent. That ended up to be ANOTHER overly hyped fight that fell faaaaaaaaaar from expectations due to his "safety first, non aggressive" fighting style. Now you have Floyd/Hatton. There is no man in this forum that cant deny that the majority of the excitement surrounding this fight is credited to Hatton and his MASSIVE following/fanbase. Hatton isnt well known among the casual fans in the USA. While his fighting style may not be appealing to many, there is no denying that he is aggresive in the ring and gives it his all. He doesnt hold back not an inch, and goes in to hurt and take his opponent out.
If Floyd was just a bit subtle and carried himself with just a bit of class and manners, he would be 100x more beloved by his domestic fans. Tyson didnt have any class in or out the ring, but that was expected from him. Everyone knew he was an animal. When it came to Tyson, it wasnt about putting up a front or act. That was just the way he was, and people respected him for that. Floyd on the other hand, puts up this big wanna be rapper/thug attitude, and constantly talks jibberish about putting so and so on thier ass, yet he has zero ferocity when in the ring (as of lately). He'd rather win in a safety first approach. While that might work for him, its not what the majority of fight fans want to see, and that's why he's not embraced in the manner he wishes he was. People see him as TOOOO MUCH BARK and too little bite.Comment

[QUOTE=deevel79;2684020]You also have to understand that to some people the way he fights is entertaining. Everybody doesn't like the same things. I liked all his fights because he won and thats what I wanted the outcome to be. Now to be honest not all of his fights have the same excitement level but nobody's does. Also I feel PBF is only being judged by his last 2 fights not his whole book of work which is not fair (neither is life so it what it is). I wouldn't that say that the majority of the fan fare around this fight is because of Hatton. Hatton's fans are different because the majority of his fans are because of nationality. That isn't the case in America we like our atheletes because we like something about how they produce not because they are American.Whats with all this toe to toe ****? PBF acts nothing like or close to a thug so please stop using that word as a description of him because he not even close to being like a thug. Explain to me what a rapper attitude is please? I wouldn't call it a safety first approach I would call using your God given abilities to your advantage.
Would it make sense for smash mouth running football team to switch to a run-n-shoot offense in the Super Bowl? No so why should PBF switch his style up when it has gotten him to 38-0 and P4P #1. Also he was outweighed by 20lbs by both of his opponents in his last 2 fights. He was alot more aggressive in his 36 other fights but I guess that **** doesn't count anymore. So basically PBF is 2-0 and thats his whole body of work if you most people on here tell it.Comment

[QUOTE=tredh;2684055]What's the opposite of acting like a respectable decent individual then? I guess it isn't thug.
