Pathetic really. Tyson did everything that was required of him. He basically copped blame when he was caught and put his hands up and admitted it. He also went to rehab, spent the last 9 months clean, did everything that he was instructed to do, kept out of trouble and pleaded guilty and he is still facing a jail term.
On the other hand, you have **** ups like Paris Hilton who drive without insurance or a license during broad daylight while they are banned and they are released from prison after a few hours because they are too 'scared' and cannot deal with it. You also have idiots like Linsay Lohan who has done similar things and even after rehab has STILL been found in possession of *******. Not only that she carjacks a car with some black guys in it and is found with ******* in her purse. Yet nothing happens to these little princesses because it would be an indignity and a violation of their 'rights' to lock them up. Utterly pathetic.
Take every variation and piece of evidence into account. Look at the person's attempts to stay clean, make an effort and so on. If they are sincere, they should have a light(er) sentence. If they flout the law because of their status and power, they should be punished with severity, swiftness and celerity; irrespective of whether they are a man or a woman.
The USA needs one uniform law that runs throughout the country - if they can draft in poor young men from throughout the country to go and die in Iraq and Afghanistan they can make a unified and unitarian law that is applied throughout all of America's 50 states.
If Mike gets 51 months in prison while ****heads like Paris Hilton and Lohan and other celebrites are given reign to abuse substances and put other people's lives at risk and not be reprimanded, then the US judicial system is a complete and utter joke. The only reason why this sentence is such a weighty one is because the prosecutor wants to make a name for him/herself and because he/she thinks they are doing the world a favour by locking up an evil monster - an evil monster who basically has given up on the world and life itself and has been ****ed over by those who he thought had his best interests at heart.
If and when Mike completes his sentence, he should just move out of the US. I know I would.Comment
