Hattons a better fighter then Castillo ever was. And Castillo was really good at one time. If Castillo thinks at his prime he was better then Hatton at Hatton's prime. Then Castillo is insane. Hatton hits harder and is faster then Castillo at Castillo's prime in my opinion. I still think Mayweather will win. But how this article goes, it seems to me that Castillo feels he is a better fighter then Hatton, which he is not.

That's the list... You might be right, I just think it is hard to justify saying that.Comment

Hatton is not better than JLC in his prime. JLC was a better inside fighter, underated jab, & a had helluva chin. He also had much better technical skills than Hatton. He fought at a high level & displayed his skills against some of the toughest fighters of this generation. Corrales, Johnston, Casamayor, Bazan, Julio Diaz, Lazcano, & Mayweather. He had a great run after the Mayweather fights.Comment

I would think this would be a major blow for Hatton fans... simply because Castillo is one of the two guys who had a good showing against Pretty Boy Floyd... and Hatton clearly is not going to be able to fight like De La Hoya, so the closest thing he could have used for a blueprint is the Castillo fight.
Castillo doesn't think he can do it.
This sort of makes me think that Castillo realizes that his level of performance in the ring has diminshed.
Castillo is entitled to his view and he can say what he wants. However, while I freely admit that Floyd is the bookmakers favourite I think he is going to get a rude awakening on Dec 8th.
He doesnt look focused, and with all this 'Dancin with the Stars' bull**** that he's got involved with, it could all got ass over tit for the pretty boy!Last edited by Saxon_Christ; 09-24-2007, 05:37 PM.Comment

Hatton is clearly not going to be able to fight like De La Hoya?? good! Then maybe Hatton will take advantage of the oppotunities when he has Floyd pushed against the ropes. Oscar was gassed out by about round 8. Hatton will be there in his face for 12 rounds.

Also, please remember that Floyd trains hard for every fight... including Henry Bruseles. How can he not be working hard for the Hatton fight?Comment

If the dancing competition keeps him occupied till 2-3 weeks before the fight then in mu opinion there is no question that it will impact on him in the fight. Those final couple of weeks training are where you tighten everything up and bring the 10 weeks of previous training to climax. Now, if Floyd is preoccupied with this dancing jig, then there is no way he can be fully prepared for the fight. Its just not humaly possible.
I personally just think that its a terrible mistake on Floyds part. As I said before, this could be his toughest fight of his career, irrespective of whether he trains hard or not.Comment

The quick answer is that perhaps he is starting to believe his own fight. Show me a great fighter and I'll show you a fighter who came unstuck after believing that their own greatness meant they didn't have to try.Comment
