        That's my view.
        Dwiens,

I respect u as a poster but Miranda, before his loss to Pavlik, was considered one of the most dangerous prospect not only at 160 but in all of boxing, and rightfully so as he had faced 3 very good fighters and lost to only Abraham although he was very competitive and made Abraham's life a living hell in those 12 rounds. Arthur Abraham is probably the # 2 middleweight in the world right now and he's been for a couple of years. Howard Eastman is easily one of the most underrated campaigners at 160. He's never been hurt before he fought Miranda, his loss to Hopkins was competitive and only when Hopkins decided to run and throw the left hook in the late rounds he seemed in control. Edison Miranda destoyed Eastman. I never even saw Eastman getting backed up by anybody. Athur Abraham and Howard Eastman pretty much cleaned up the 160 pound divison. Allan Green was an undefeated and highly regarded 168 pounders, still is, although many, myself included think that Bute and Kessler are better. Miranda got up from a knockdown and destroyed him. These fights proved to me that Miranda was not overrated. The guy is a an incredible speciman, very strong-willed and determined who punches like a mule. Pavlik shut him out in all round by brutally beating the living **** out of him, stopping him and maybe ending his one-promising career. How is that overrated?

That is irrelevant as Ricardo Mayorga was a beast at 147 and destroyed the very best in that division.

How many people on this board said that Miranda would ko Pavlik silly? Almost everybody. Then Pavlik kos him and all of a sudden Miranda becomes so overrated. There is a clear bias here.

JT's career before the Hopkins fight was less-stellar than Pavlik's, that's for sure. He didn't beat one quality contender and still some insiders predicted him to win against B-Hop, Manny Steward including who made that prediction 12 montsh before the fight actually happened.

Its how you predict him to win which makes them a bandwagoner.

Yeah he's overrated. Still a good fighter though. I think Jermain will win by decision in the end.

                  no not really..

for me personally, i have a hard time seeing, which fighters in the mw div who could beat pavlik, and im one of those, who think taylor is going to have his chin checked, and thats not going to do him any good.

pavlik is easely top 3 in the mw div, so claiming he is the best, is not hyping him up.

personally i see pavlik as a stylistic nightmare for anyone in the mw div, he is exceptionel big, he throws an enormous amount of punches, he pack solid power, and his chin is well proven by taking miranda+s best shots..

but when people are claiming he is gonna blaze through the smw and lhw div, then they are basing it on hype, but to claim him as the best mw, does not constitute hype..

It's not just that people overrate Pavlik, though a few do. It's that people are split on Taylor. To a lot of fans he seems a bit of a fraud. I have to admit I question his legitimacy as well. I'm not convinced one way or the other, though. Since Hopkins he's has a controversial draw, a controversial SD against a welterweight, and a decent showing against an overmatched little man. His "reign" is hardly in the Hagler-Monzon mold so far.

There are some people who've had him losing three of his last six fights (Hopkins 1, Wright, Spinks).
