According to the Hollywood Reporter, Brad Pitt is in negotiations to co-star with Mark Wahlberg in "The Fighter," a boxing motion picture to be directed by Darren Aronofsky. I heard the movie won't even go up to the Gatti fights which is pretty lame. I think it will be more of a drama than a boxing movie, nonetheless boxing fans will probably still pay to watch it.

They better show the ****in' Gatti fights, the majority of people who don't follow boxing only know Ward through word of mouth of the Gatti fights and/or because he's from Mass (well, us Mass heads know him cause he's from Lowell).

I don't see the Mickey Ward story very intersting to be honest. I'd much rather Spike Lee's film about Joe Louis. I guess there must be a story they want to tell about his life, if they don't show the Gatti fights it's pretty point less.
I have a feeling that this film could be one of those films that which an Actor wants to play a role as a boxer. I think Marky Marky is really pushing for this film to get up. There are far more interesting boxing stories than this one.

His battle with Diaz is more important cause the closeness of this fight is what brought Ward back to Hbo meaning bringing him in for the Gatti fights, or fight as it was only supposed to be one fight.

ALSO....Teddy Atlas MUST be spoken about, because at the time there was no one else YELLING that Micky Ward should get a big payday(it was almost commen for Atlas to mention Ward back in the day) hence the Diaz then the Gatti fights.

Did Micky have a tougher life than Gatti, or are we just feeding hollywood's newfound obsession with the irish again?
