I know what you're trying to say, but no. Winky at 160 would embarass Pavlik worse than he did Tito.

Cant deny that, because at the end of the fight Pavlik admitting he got hit with a lot of ****** punches.
Pavlik was willing to let Zertuche hit him because he couldn't do any dmage. You can't use that fight as any indication Kelly Pavlik has defensively. He just wanted to attack and stop him, thats it.

Disagree, Pavlik's power and punch output is too much for the phalanx defense even with the oversized gloves, probably way too much.

I know, there's no excuses in boxing, blah, blah, blah. You're the same guys though that make plenty of excuses for your own mistakes in life so try not playing the hypocrite role for once guys.

For a fighter like Jermain Taylor, Pavlik's style is Taylor made (Pun intended). He comes forward with very little foot work, slow as molasses, no head movement, mediocre defense, predictable and staright up and down with no special effects. As Emanuel Stewart stated Kelly is asleep in 3.
Ouma was suppose to be tailor made for Pavlik, he came straight forward, didn't move at all and has no pop, and was a blown up jr middleweight. Eventhough Taylor landed big shots he couldn't hurt Ouma or keep him off of him. Ouma walked through Taylors punches and continued backing him up. If he couldn't stop Ouma what makes you think he can stop Pavlik. Pavlik is bigger, stronger, and has power to apply with the pressure that Ouma couldn't due to his lack of power and size. Say waht you want about Miranda but if you can can take flush shots from hima and keep coming, that says something about Pavliks chin. We can't say the same for Taylor because he has never faced a guy with power. I don't think thats a coicidence.

Everything I'm finding says 2 tenths overweight. I would be interested in reading anything you got if you have a more detailed or accurate link.

Here's one of many links that confirms the initial at 160.2.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Cory Spinks made weight after being a pound over limit during the weigh-in for Saturday's WBC middleweight championship fight.

Ok......wrong on two accounts. Maybe not the third.

"Saying that Edison had serious trouble making weight isn't speculation but a known fact. Kelly doesn't make this weight easily either but it was much harder for Edison for that fight. Edison took the shots to the body and head well because he is a very tough fighter who at the time just didn't know how to lose."

Miranda always has trouble with weight, this is indeed fact. But looking at the fight, he was his usual sloppy self and as been beaten into the ground; couldn't fight well going backwards. Yeah, Miranda is a tough guy but to stand up to horrific body shots like that on supposed dead legs is beyond amazing, almost too amazing for me. I don't doubt making weight effected him, but claims of him being a corpse coming into the fight simply doesn't hold up when one watches it. He actually fought one hell of a Round 2, and should have won it. I didn't see the fight as a complete shut out as some do, both fighters deserve credit.

Pavlik is tailor-made for Taylor. No defense.

Miranda was weighed in the back by the commission I think, not before the press or public. Nobody is actually sure how far off the weight he was, but a few people said he was 162 when he came to the weigh-in and close to super middleweight the day before.

Spinks came in overweight too, at 161 that day. He made 159.8 later and claimed the scale was wrong.
