If I weren't usually so politically correct with my word usage, I'd of said this upon entry since this is basically what the thread consists of.

I've already been accused of being racist for picking Pavlik to beat Taylor, and for questioning whether Mayweather has the resume' of an all time great or not. The funny thing is, most people here thought I was black prior to me posting my picture and I was never questioned. Then I posted my actual pic, and I get labelled racist for my opinions.

On the whole though, most people around these forums are very respectable about matters of race and opinion. I've had lengthy debates with people from various ethnic backgrounds regarding various fighters, and on the whole they're all respectful and openminded.

That said there are quite a few racists or reverse racists running around here.

You are one of the guys on here who I respect. So I will share my observations as a mixed-race guy who happens NOT to be American.

There is a ****load of racism on this board. And it is vastly skewed towards black fighters.

Here are some examples:

1) A Brit poster on here referred to Floyd as being just another thug like Jeff Lacy. I asked the question of what made lacy "a thug". I'm still awaiting that response.

2) Floyd is often lumped in with Roy Jones, Jr. As in "I can't wait until he's KO'd like Fraud Jones". What do the two have to do with one another?? It is actually hard for me to think of many similarities between those two fighters other than their P4P legacies. Roy is a country boy who rarely participated in self-promotion or the marketing of his fights. Floyd is a city boy who seems to do little BUT fight and self-promote.

3) Anything a black boxer does to get in trouble or that breaks the rules is referred to as "******". Well, Floyd and Arturo gatti have nearly identical rap sheets. Is Gatti "******"? Is Paul Spadafora "******"?

4) I hear fighters' grammar criticized and them referred to as uneducated. The posters saying it almost invariably have their posts riddled with poor grammar, diction and misspellings. Why is "ebonics" more a subject of mockery than Hatton, for example, saying "I have me best fights against me best competition"? Double standard, maybe?

5) Boxing is an amalgam of a whole host of skills: chin, athleticism, power, durability, stamina, strength, etc, etc. But if a black fighter relies on his athleticism, that is somehow less respected than if a white or Mexican fighter relies on his chin.

6) Mayweather gets eviscerated for TALKING at a press conference. But Barrera punched Morales bare-fisted (and risked the guy's career). Where was the outrage?

I can list examples ad infinitum...and, unfortunately, ad nauseam.

My favourites fighters happen to be a diverse lot: Casamayor, Guzman, Pac, Mayweather and Ouma. In roughly that order.

this is a good rational post, and i see what you mean by this. but this is not all posters on this site. that dude barlog or whoever it is says everyone here is racist including black people themselves. he is jus an ignorant *******, but when u put it rationally i agree, there are posters like that, and they should be either ignored or banned, not all put into one category, cuz that makes everyone a racist. it takes two to tango.
