this thread is just another ****** thread dealing with mayweather and the cultural impact he seems to have on the entire board along with predictable comparisons between both countries resulting in a thread that contributes nothing to anything signifigant.

True ****, but it's not like the people on this board invent it, if it comes from Floyd's mouth that the posters have every right to remind us that America doesn't even have real ******s anymore. We have tough neighborhoods and drug-infested housing projects, but the "from da hood" line is silly from anyone not from the thirld world. Didn't Sergei Lyakovic say enough about this, when he pointed out that there's not an American who grew up like he did? I'm sure Kassim Ouma agrees with Sergei that even someone from Oakland had it relatively easy.

There's a whole mess of ignorant preconceptions behind all this talk, and they're spewing from Mayweather's mouth onto the Scene.

i didnt claim America has the toughest hoods
and that isnt something to celebrate
poverty or rough hoods or whatever isnt something to glorify
and you were making it seem that walking through a hood in america is like going to mr. roger's house or something when i doubt you even been to the hoods i even mentioned

how about you try traveling to africa
where there is warzones everywhere
go to columbia
go to some central and south america countries
not trying to offend anyone but i dont fear walking into a hood full of guys that drink tea and eat crumpets

I am from bayview, and i live in oakland, cosign to the fullest. if someone has spent "considerable" time in both countries, nobody vacations in the roughest areas to survey "toughness", thats ******. there is no way you could measure that just by "spending time" you have to live it and grow up in it to really know, until then, your really just a visitor. I cant sit here and judge any other countries "toughness" unless i have experianced it first hand or have an account to know (places like afgahnistan where i served come to mind), measuring one countries "toughness" against another in most instances is just ******.

especially 1st world countries like the uk and the us

I am not on Holiday.. BJ I Live in the UK... and I grew up in Canada And I worked in tele comunications during the 90's and had Contracts in AZ and MI and Lived in both states for months at a time... I can assure you The USA is last on my list of "holiday" destinations...

I just like how nobody cares about mayweather, yet everyone hangs onto his every word, its partly why i actually havent been posting lately, nobody really talks about anything else. its boring to revisit things i said about mayweather in 2005, 2006 and 2007 over and over again.

I really dont even care about what mayweather says or what hatton says other than they say the **** for my own entertainment. I have heard nothing but good things about mayweather on a real life scale thats nothing like his fight night persona, the same about hatton, there is no reason for me to REALLY hate these individuals based on wordplay in a WWF style setting to hype up a fight.

I just love how people take what he says so personal, that race, background, hometown, and culture are all taken into account into hating a man you dont even know.
