Mayweather disrespecting everyone devalues disrespect.
If it was me - I wouldn't do and say **** some shrink could capitalize on.
They spend alot of time talking about Mayweather's mental/emotional stuff on 'Soul Of A Champion.'

Ding! That was a challenge guys. I don't know about you, but this fight looks like it could be a war.
Lately, it seems that he has taken to slagging Floyd and that may work against him. Why badmouth the guy who will likely beat you? That makes you appear a proper plonker upon your defeat.
Oscar was smart... he didn't try to diminish PBF. So his rep stays intact.

I'm not hating, I think he's number one in the world, is gonna box Hatton's ears off and look impressive, i just have doubts about him, I think his childhood and relationship with his dad have screwed him up.

GENERALLY (but not all) urban/black athletes are very stylish in the way they perform. This is often coupled with vast quan****** of braggadocio. I'm sure you've heard that Micheal Jordan was a vicious trash-talker. In fact, the basis of hip-hop is boasting. it was founded on battle raps and many songs are about who has more money, who can **** better, who has the best flow, etc. 50 Cent is always in a beef with another rapper.
So in large part, it is cultural.
Further, there is an environmental/family component. I'm sure that you have noticed that the Mayweathers are not shy about telling you how good they are. PBF is very spoiled. He has never had a job in his life. And he has become fabulously wealthy. His dad says "I'm the best trainer in the world". Floyd says that "Uncle Roger is the best". Nobody is ever "good". They are all "the best". Al hayman is "the best manager in the world". Etc.
Additionally, Floyd just feels he is better than everyone in the ring. He has not lost in the ring in 15 years (the Olympics was a joke). He has beaten older, faster, smarter, stronger, etc, etc. So, in his mind, he is a boxing god (not to be confused with the Dominican God - that's me).
Lastly, he uses this tactic to motivate himself. He is boxing's equivalent of a "method actor". If somebody insults him, he goes to train ("Yo, get my running ****").

Floyd is certifiably insane. They all are.

50 said that Floyd is a real cool guy, nice guy, mellow. etc. The host then asked specifically about the arrogance. Fiddy said that Floyd is essentially a little kid having fun. He said that there were alot of things that Floyd "did without". 50 said that he understands that mentality because he grew up the same way, and that is why they are similar and why they get along so well. He said that Floyd is just an over-the-top version of himself.
When 50 was talking about "doing without", he wasn't just talking about money. Floyd was always in a reasonably comfortable situation. But he had a very controlled life. gym. sleep. home. tournaments. gym....
Floyd was not that kid running the streets, chasing girls, playing stickball, swimming in the lake. He was very sheltered. He was/is a momma's boy
I often draw comparisons between Floyd and Tiger. They are very similar, even though on the SURFACE, they seem very different. And i read a great article that i'll try to find for you guys, if interested.
Great athletes are insecure. They all are. That is what drives Floyd to go running at 3am. That is why Jerry Rice was running hills every summer. I read the Jerry Rice book, and he and barry Bonds got into competitive races on the track. Talking ****. That is why Larry Bird was shooting hundreds of jumpers per day during the summer in Terre Haute. FMJ has alot of insecurities. And he is no different than what drives Ladainian Tomlinson or Kobe Bryant. Ever notice how Tiger Woods plays better AFTER Rory Sabbatini talks ****?
You don't think Michael Jordan was crazy? He would punch TEAMMATES in practice.Last edited by DIOS DOMINICANO; 09-17-2007, 08:42 PM.
