I think manny has made a world of difference. For one, i think he has Cintron's confidence through the roof, which means a ton. Secondly, steward has Cintron boxing, throwing stiff jabs, not just pawing the jab and then throwing the right. Thirdly, I don't think the first fight with Marg was at all indicative of Cintron anyway. Cintron had to stand in there with Teddy Reid when Reid didnt go down, and he did. That was a tough fight, and kerm showed heart and determination. I just think there was too much going on around the Margarito fight. I think it is a competative fight this time, with Cintron getting a KO around round 8.

Cintron knocked him out in 2. And devestatingly I might add. The guy he fought was no slouch, Williams tried to play it down like he softened the guy up before Cintron fought him, but it was damn impressive non the less.

Cintrons angles were so crisp in that fight it was like his opponent didn't even have a defense even though his gloves were up. Manny Steward has really helped him and I think will greatly improve him.

Margarito - I give him his props, I thought Williams was going to blow him away in the first part of that fight, but Margarito is a worker and down the stretch you could see Paul was somewhere he was unfamiliar with, the deep water. A rematch with Cintron would be interesting, and I believe different.
Well said. This is exactly how I feel.

Of course Margarito may be hungrier this time around also and Cintron's chin in my mind is still very questionable, no not questionable actually i know he cant take a great shot and when he gets hurt he tends to be far too concerned with not looking hurt, see the Estrada fight. The guy was smiling and pandering to the crowd but he had an iron grip around Estrada cause if he wasnt holdin on he probably couldnt stand up. MArgarito hits quite a bit harder than Estrada. The other thing with Cintron is he has a very thin frame which makes him real susceptible to a strong body attack. Like I said earlier he cant afford to hold his hands low or he'll be out like a light.
You do bring a good point up here. As you stated, he needs to keep his distance and plan his shots carefully.

This is why i think cintrons toughest welter fight is with Cotto, though Cotto is open for big shots. zab got some shots through, and cintron hits way harder. i think cotto cintron is a great fight for the day before the pr parade at MSG next year.

Steward added better technique. Before Cintron was real raw. Now he has improved balance, better footwork, better leverage on his shots etc. But he's still as slow as hit. Margarito would beat him easy again.

I've never heard Cintron referred to as slow... very interesting. And does this mean that Marg is spectacularly fast? if he is, he must have just held it back over the past 4 years or so. I mean, im not saying he is slow, but i would say him and cintron have comparable speed.

It's going to be tough for Cintron to really get mentally over what happened to him against Margarito. The addition of Steward will help him out because it's turned that raw talent he has into a boxer now. Im just curious how Kermit would handle the good chin of Margarito's and if he would get frustrated after a while and then that's when Marg would pounce and take control of the fight. I would like to see the rematch and I would have to go with Margarito because of that mental advantage he would have over him.

Depends on how much Cintron has improved, he will HAVE TO BOX, otherwise Marg will mash him out again. Manny is doing wonders for Cintron though so I see him being a much more game fighter come the second fight.

As someone sad before, Steward has given Cintron confidence. Confidence is one of the most important things in boxing. If your not confident you will be hesitant with your punches and things you wanna do and nothing will come out right. When Cintron fought Margarito, I dont think he was very confident.

After winning a world title, although against a guy who should not have been fighting for a title in Suarez, that brought his confidence up. He crushed Matthysse who Paul Williasms hit with everything but the kitchen sink and couldnt stop him until Matthysse just sat there exhausted eating shots and got stopped on his feet. That borught his confidence up. He has on of the most famous trainers training him in the legendary Crunk Gym and hes training and sparring wth guys like Jermain Taylor and Andy Lee. That is all very good for him.

I think his skills have improved a little bit but not as much as people act like. He still has a lot of flaws. The main thing is the confidence, the guy has so much confidence now. A confident fighter is a dangerous fighter.

I dunno if Cintron-Margarito II would be any different. Cintron would probably put up a better fight and not quit this time but im not sure if he can win. It would be an interesting fight and I think it would be a good fight for both guys at this stage in their careers.
