Not really. Most fighters who do cheat, get caught. (Though, how do we know for sure?) However, I'd be lead to believe that do to the testing of fighters immediately after fights. If the winner is tested positive for a performance enhancing drug, the decision is then turned into a NO CONTEST. I'd say it happens a little more in the lesser exposed fights, due to the LESSER EXPOSED part of it, but.. even there. Boxing, for all the negative **** is has, is one of the cleanest sports in this regard. That'll never get coverage though.

      thats just bs..

call it a no contest.. if the guy cheats, the ban him for x amount of years and certainly claim him as the loser.

in boxing, aswell as in any other sports with a big money, people are ready to go that extra inch, to gain an advantage. im not in a position to claim x amount of footballers, and x amount of boxers or x amount of cyclist are filled with illegal performance enhancing drugs.

but as in socciety, there are humans who break the law, does everything to gain the upperhand, the same goes for boxing and sports in general. why should they be better or worse then others.

When Ruiz lost to Toney, and TOney tested positive.. It was declared a No Contest..Because they don't know who would have won. Therefore, the "no contest" ruling makes sense.

In terms of better or worse?? Because boxers don't look like genetic freaks like some baseball players. ****, even the guys who DO juice in boxing, look reasonable. IN baseball, the players assume fans must be ****ing idiots.

if you take steroids you should lose the fight. In athletics they don't declare it a 'no race' because one of them took steroids. They disqualify him and move everyone up one place.

Anyone caught doping should be banned for life and have their records erased from the history books.

Boxing is corrupt enough as it is without adding a drug dimension into it.

Drugs are widespread in sports, especially in america, the ones who get caught are just the tip of the iceburg.

There are new masking agents being developed all the time and the drug agencies are playing catch up.

Its not fair and we need to get tough.

i dont watch baseball, a kiddie sport ;-)

come on c.. look at guys like tyson post prison, and holyfield gaining more muscles the you and i put together, in 1 year.

there are tons of fighters doing everything, and optimizing their training with performance inhancing drugs, which are illegal, wasnt there a lot of boxer involved with the balco company or what was the name..?

even small guys could be taking something, it might not be muscle building, but perhaps increase stamina.. just look at epo in cycling. these guys look like holocaust victims, yet ride 2.500 km in 3 weeks

i personally agree with me2007, i couldnt care less, what the outcome of toney-ruiz was. for me that just shows, that the fighter using isnt penalized. the fighter caught cheating, should lose and have a ban. for me its minimum 2 years the first time, and life the next.

boxing is a sport where power and stamina is as important as in atletics, cycling and so on, and there are tons of cases in those sports..

my guess and view is, that boxing is rather corrupt, and sometimes hides the fact, some are positive.

Steroids is EXTREMELY common in boxing. All of the logic and evidence would point in that direction.

              1) Steroids are common in other sports which are MUCH more tightly regulated. Doesn't it make sense that the loosely-governed boxing would have that prevalent problem as well?

              2) many boxers have either tested or admitted to PED use: mayorga, toney, vargas, jones, klitschko, etc.

              3) Top boxers go 5-6 months between fights. This is an ideal interval for steroid use.

              4) Shane Mosley used steroids, and there was no oversight or governance. And thus, no punishment.

              5) Holyfield (er, "Evan Fields") used 'roids yet he is being given an immediate title shot.

In large part, what you are watching is not real.
