I'd say either Johnson or Echols.

Man he totally roughed up Keith Holmes though. The fight was ugly, but Nard landed over 100 low blows for sure. Especially ones that weren't called like on the legs and hips.

hopkins did everything in the johnson fight. threw every kind of punch from every angle. he boxed, he swarmed, he fought on the front foot, he fought off the backfoot, inside, outside, everything. it was a masterclass against a game and very tough opponent in a young glen johnson. to me it was hopkins at his best, as his style during that bout was halfway between the roberto duran-esque hopkins of the early-mid '90s and the crafty hopkins of the 2000's. it was like the two distinct career versions of hopkins that we know of fighting at the same moment. feints, counters, and ring movement coupled with high volume power punching and stalking.

the entire fight is on youtube btw.
        Yeah it was ****ing awesome.

I don't buy the overrated talk, he's one of the greatest fighters of all time. And when I state that I don't mean he'd top a list or something...........that's ridiculous. Top 50 I'd say 20 maybe 30 but open for debate. All I know is he's accomplished a whole bunch.

          what do you guys say?
Trinidad was his last great performance IMO, but the Echols fight was prime Hopkins. It was an awesome offensive and defensive performance.

I'd agree in a way.......Hopkins best complete showing was against Trinidad. He was excellent offensively against Johnson and Echols........definitely not as fine tuned as he was in the Trinidad fight.

Nard's tendencies to fight dirty have always surfaced themselves. I've maintained though.......and especially when he fought Holmes and most recently Winky that his opponent should retaliate.

If they're going to let him make them his ***** by throwing combinations on their nut sack or football tackling them with the head.........they might deserve to lose the fight. I'm not advocating breaking the rules, but the rules get broken and everyone should know he's dirty, and will break the rules.

It's obvious he fights like it's a matter of life and death survival in the ring. He always has and he's always been the most alert of anyone. I really can't remember a time when he lapsed in a fight except for against Mercado when he got caught and floored.

                  Trinidad and Johnson.

Tarver is his 2nd best win though behind Tito.
