Floyd wins his fights... he causes more damage to his opponents than they cause to him. I don't know why people criticize Floyd because he doesn't get hit... it seems to be an overall good strategy to employ.
Have you ever noticed that the exciting fighters are rarely P4P #1? That's because the exciting fighters get hit a lot, shortening their career, or causing them to lose.
I made the baseball analogy in another thread. Just because a team with a lead going into the 9th doesn't purposely put the tying run on base, does that hurt the game of baseball? No. Does it make the game a little more boring? Yes. But why the **** would anyone, in any kind of competition give away their advantages against their opponent? I can't think of a good answer, can you?
Game, Point, whoops! LOL Sugar Ray Robinson is consistently ranked as the #1 p4p of all time. Now, you're saying he wasn't an exciting fighter? LOL

Don't be so hasty to win an argument.
My freind Wiley there you go nit picking again budd. Did you not see him say RARLEY. Rarley as in not EVERYONE but THE MAJORITY. Whitaker, Mayweather, Hopkins were all p4p #1 and all weren't the most exciting of fighters.

That's not "nit picking." It looks to me like you're the one "nit picking" here. I'm sincerely glad he qualified his post with the word "rarely." But, it just so happens that SRR is generally considered THE #1 p4p. I wonder why? And, it wasn't because he was BORING.

The argument had nothing to do with SRR, since he was an exciting p4p #1. All he was saying is that isn't the case with most p4p fighters, that was all nothing more nothing less.

And, all I'm saying is that his argument is flawed. Nothing more, nothing less.

After further review, it looks like the chair umpire made a mistake, it actually is game, set, match. Here's why:
Question: Have you seen Mayweather-Gatti and Mayweather-N'dou? You cannot honestly tell me that those fights were not exciting. If you do, that means that you only like extremely close slugfests, which means you are way too picky for this sport. Anyways, my point is that Mayweather beat the **** out of those two F's, but he pretty much never got hit.
That is how Sugar Ray Robinson was able to be P4P #1 and be exciting. However, I have a hunch that SRR lost some of his excitement appeal when he fought Joey Maxim for the Lightheavyweight Title (I don't know, I haven't seen the fight. All I know is that Robinson collapsed from exhaustion).
Anyways, Floyd was exciting (especially at 140) and he still continued to play defense. But when people call for a fighter to jump up 24 pounds higher than the weight he started his career at, he is going to be significantly outweight, and therefore, significantly overpowered. Demanding that a fighter make a fight an exciting slugfest with an opponent who came down from 160 when he came up from 147 is absurd.
If 140 was the loaded division in boxing right now, I guarantee you Floyd would be P4P #1, and also one of the most exciting fighters in boxing. It is just unfortunate that everyone that Floyd is called out to fight is ****ing huge compared to him (Cotto, Williams, Mosley [who came down from 160 a while ago], Margarito [haha]).

Seems like you have taken the baton, and ran with it to the finish line.
Only if he does it in impressive action is the general stance that most people are taking on here. Very frustrating that a fighter gets downgraded for playing defense in the ring, and not blocking punches with his face.
exactly i dont get it either
your supposed to hit and not get hit
but if floyd beats hatton he still wont get any credit
he's the most hated
but deep down inside these haters know the truth
its sad
because even if i didnt like a particular boxer i wouldnt hate on him
i will still respect him for his skills and accomplishments inside the ring
