Its hard to say how someone will react from their first loss.
Some fighters learn from the mistake and carry on and others fall of the wagon and are never the same fighter again...so who knows.
it could go many ways...
if mayweather loses by a decision (no matter how close or how much of a blowout) the mayweather ball washers will say it was a robbery...even if it was a convincing UD win over mayweather (for the record i dont see mayweather EVER beaten by UD...just saying for example).
if mayweather gets knocked out the mayweather ball washers will say it was a lucky punch or something...
so either way the fans will say robbery or lucky shot...that isnt too hard to figure out...especially since idiots really think he is the #1 greatest of all time...they will be ball washing all the way.
as for mayweather's reaction i cant say...
he could admit he actually lost or he could argue and say it was a robbery...
time will tell though...
but my opinion is if its a loss via SD then he will probably say he won...i mean most fighters dispute close SD losses...like the bhop-taylor fight and the draw for winky-taylor...and i dont think anyone is right or wrong since its so close...its just the luck of the draw.
if mayweather gets convincingly beat then i can see him admitting it...especially he doesnt have anything to argue really.
if he gets knocked out it would matter (in my opinion) in what fashion it happens...if its just a one punch ("home run") knockout he could say it was just a lucky punch or he could accept it...he definately couldnt argue if he got dropped 3 times and was just taking punishment...
so it all matters on the situation in my opinion...Last edited by frankpaganini; 09-12-2007, 08:22 PM.Comment

He will probably do what most fighters do when they lose... dispute the close decisions. Accept responsibility for getting blown out. Say that a KO was a lucky punch, but acknowledge that they caught him with it and that his defense should have been better. Its hard to say how someone will react from their first loss.

Pretty much standard operating procedure.Comment

I just can't tell if Floyd really believes his own press clippings or if he just is trying to sell fights because...they are boring for the most part. But, I have no doubt that if he loses a decision, of any kind, the Mayweather camp (including Floyd) will scream robbery. It's going to take a knockout to bring him back to reality.Comment

I doubt it... Trinidad didn't ***** about his loss to Wright. Lacy didn't complain about his loss to Calzaghe. If it is pretty one-sided, I don't think he will *****. We will probably never find out though... I do think Floyd will never lose a 120-108 decision... he's too fast, slick and defensively great for that.I just can't tell if Floyd really believes his own press clippings or if he just is trying to sell fights because...they are boring for the most part.
