With Cotto's body composition he could easily be a Junior Middle because he's a short endomorph.
He is a bit too short to really be a factor at middle I think. If he was at least 5'9 he would stand a better chance. But at 147 he does not look unhealthy or drained. Lot's of fighter weigh in on fight night heavier. Hatton is a blimp in between fights... I am sure he gains a nice 10 lbs on fight night as does castillo and many many more.

True. Thing that people don't understand is that Judah didn't change from that weigh-in till fight night. Maybe a little. Whereas Cotto packed on about 15lbs. and looked much bigger than Zab on fight night. Cotto is built like a truck man, but Mosley is solidly built too.

Quintana is a legit natural Welterweight. I dont want to hear it.

He thought he could bully Cotto because of that fact, and by the 4th round he was running for his life.

this thread maks no sense at all, if cotto is that big it's good for him, all good fighter have an advantage, cotto's is that he is strong. it's like if i would be saying, mayweather doens't fight a fighter who is so fast and skilled like him or george foreman did not fight such a big puncher then him.

I'm not dis*****g that Quintana is a legit Welterweight. But he is a smallish one and I could see him making 140 in a clinch. Compare Quintana to guys like WWs like Margarito....he's just not a strong welterweight. In Mosley, Cotto will for the first time be fighting a guy who undoubtedly can match him strength wise and his proven his strength in the past.

I dunno man. I'm not a Cotto hater, I like his style. Maybe I'm just traumatized from seeing him beat up Paulie live at MSG who looked like a canary bird in a cage with a fat cat. Cotto looked HUGE compared to him and I just think he's been beating up on guys who aren't strong....it's like a pattern for Cotto. But now he's in there with a legit and strong guy so we'll see what he's all about. If he wins...PROPS, no doubt!

I still disagree, Mike. Quintana has fought at Welter his whole career. He's somewhere between 5'9 and 5'10. He's not as big as Margarito and Cintron because they are freaks of nature, but he's still a pretty big Welterweight with solid power. There's no way he could make 140, or he would have fought there by now.

Its not long ago people were calling Quintana the most skilled fighter on that December card. (out of Margarito, Clottey, Cotto) When he finally gets in the ring again he'll prove my point. Until then, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Yeah he's a big guy for that weight Quintana is. But I have no idea how Cintron can fight at 147 pounds. If you put him next to Clinton Woods you'd think he outweighed him by a couple of pounds of muscle.
