Yes, during the fight between (I believe it was) Barrera and Juarez II (9/17/06) I remember the HBO team referring to the taping on the outside of MAB's gloves.

They talked about how taping the gloves like that can pressurize the glove and increase it's capacity for damage.

There are plenty of pictures still online but I'm having trouble finding one I can attach here.. Anyone who finds a picture of the taping of Barrera's green colored Everlast will be rewarded.
