I took a lot of the advice from my teacher, and the people in the other thread. I changed the article up A LOT. I remember someone saying it looked more like a history report and not an article and it really seemed that way after i re-read it. So I changed the whole thing up a lot and think i did a little better job. Let me know what you think please.
The Fast VS The Furious

Today most boxers care more about keeping good records and ducking the dangerous fights in fear of losing. Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley are not like most of today’s fighters. In fact, they are pretty much the opposite of most of today’s fighters. These two warriors are both taking a huge risk when they meet on November 10 in the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden, in New York City and the fight will also be live on HBO PPV.
The name of this event has been called “The Fast and The Furious” as in the hit movie that has became quite a series. Cotto-Mosley is likely to be nothing short of a hit, it will probably be even better. Will there end up being sequels just like the movie? That remains to be seen but I wouldn’t doubt it. After these two go to war , I wouldn’t be surprised if the people demand a sequel.
Miguel Cotto, from Caguas, Puerto Rico, is taking on the role as the “furious.” This is a result of the style that Cotto has displayed in his previous fights. Cotto has furiously beat down his opponents to an impressive record of 30-0 with 25 knockouts winning world titles in both the jr. welterweight and welterweight divisions. Cotto will systematically break you down both physically and mentally in the ring with his nonstop attack and vicious left hook to the body. You will never see Cotto discouraged or out of his game plan. He steps in the ring with one mission, destroy his opponent, and doesn’t stop until that mission is fulfilled. When he squares of with Shane Mosley, the mission will be no different.
“Sugar” Shane Mosley is taking on the role as the “fast.” Mosley has used his lightning quick speed to gain world titles in the lightweight, welterweight, and jr. middleweight divisions. With speed comes power, and with Mosley it is no exception as his speed and power have brought him an astonishing record of 44-4 with 37 knockouts. Even in Mosley’s most recent fight, at the age of 35, he looked just as fast and sharp as ever easily outpointing tough contender Luis Collazo. Mosley’s speed along with his power, foot work, and ring smarts may be too much for any fighter to handle.
Although both fighters have taken their roles, one being the “fast” and the other being the “furious,” I think they can both be fast and furious at times. Cotto is faster than he gets credit for. Just ask Carlos “El Indio” Quintana whom Cotto knocked out in the fifth round and said Cotto was much faster than he expected. Mosley can also play the role as a furious one at times. Just ask Fernando Vargas about the 6th round of their second fight when after dropping Vargas with a huge counter left hook he jumped on him and finished him as soon as he rose not even giving him a chance to recover.
Both fighters are confident they will come out of the ring the victor on November 10. Cotto says, "Everybody knows what type of caliber fighter Mosley is. But everyone also knows about my capacity, and for this fight if I have been training 100%. I'm going to train 200% because I'll be ready for whatever Mosley is going to bring to the table.” Mosley says, “I respect Cotto, he’s good, but he hasn’t faced the opposition I have faced in my career which included victories over De La Hoya twice.” So Cotto believes he will win the fight due to his hard work he puts in in his training camp in Puerto Rico and Mosley believes his experience will be the deciding factor.
The fans are already buzzing about this fight. Bob Arum, Cotto’s promoter, said, “This is the biggest test for Miguel Cotto. He is facing a Hall of Famer in Sugar Shane Mosley. November 10th will be a magical night at Madison Square Garden..” The fight will likely create a magical night which is no new news to any boxing fans who know anything about Cotto or Mosley. The fans are in for a real treat, it will be history in the making on November the 10th.
