AC: First of all, Israel, I would like to thank you for this interview!
IV: Thank you.
AC: How do you feel about taking part in two of the best fights of the year?
IV: It's an honor. I'm glad to give the fans something to remember me by. I've always dreamt of being in big fights and now I am living my dream.
AC: Now in the first fight with Marquez, you could not continue because of the problem with your nose. Did it bother you at all in the second fight?
IV: No, it was never a factor in the second fight, which proves what I have been saying all along, that I would of beaten Marquez in the first fight if the injury never occurred. But that is boxing.
AC: If you've watched the fight, did you feel it was an early stoppage, or do you feel like it was just a matter of time before Marquez went down again and stayed down? Do you feel like your victory was tainted at all with some of the press saying it was an early stoppage?
IV: I didn't think it was a bad stoppage. If you look at the last five seconds of the fight, Marquez's eyes say it all. I knew I was going to knock him out. If I would've known how much attention the whole stoppage was going to get, I would've prefered to just knock him out. Next time I will.
AC: Either way, you have given us what seems to be the making of one of those great historic trilogies. Are you looking to pursue a third fight with Marquez, and if so, when would you think that fight would take place?
IV: I am looking forward to a third fight. It's a fight that the fans and the rest of the boxing world want to see. I certainly want to fight Marquez again and close the book on this memorable trilogy. But we are also still considering taking a tune-up before the Marquez fight.
AC: If a third fight does come to fruition, how do you see that fight playing out?
IV: It's going to be the same result as the second fight. Rudy Perez helped me so much in a short amount of time. We will come up with a strategy that will help us get another victory. I'm still learning new things with Rudy and I'm sure he will help me continue to improve. People will see a stronger, more intelligent and very hungry fighter in the rubbermatch.
IV: Thank you.
