Yet another September fight I wanted to see that's now down the toilet. What the hell man!?! Poppa, what's going on here? This is really bad for boxing IMO. We've had the best year in recent memory thus far, but all these fights being cancelled is slowing down the momentum.
Hopefully Pavlik and Taylor start a fire in the ring that's able to get us back on track. -
That's a good way of looking at it from the other side. And I have to admit I wasn't exactly thrilled that Bowe was fighting again, I find his mental state to be that of a mini-Tyson. I just wanted something, anything to tide me over until Taylor/Pavlik. That makes 4 fights this month that are now off the table, except Mayorga/Vargas which has been rescheduled.
I don't think rescheduling was such a good idea for "El Feroz" though. I can't help but wonder about his health as well, and if he should be fighting at all anymore.Comment

I WISH Bowe would go on the HBO HW Contender-like series, they are doing one soon, I think..
Otherwise he needs to retire. He needs to show to the public, promoters, and himself that he is still TRAINABLE, period. He needs about 2 months of heavy-work before he should fight anywhere, but if he was willing to do that I'm sure he could get a legit 10 rd. (ESPN FNF) bout against some tomato can state-side if he actually wanted to. But, no. He probably just wants to hit a heavy-bag a month before some ****ty four round fight, do no road work, hope for the best, but already be paid no matter how it turns out. If only he had the fire of Big George or Frazier.. or, hell, even me.Comment
