Good choice, got the same idol, just lacking the talent
Mundine has an excellent jab, Roy wasn't using it as much. They also don't have the same defense, Roy relied on his left hook. I good go on and on, but sometimes Mundine chooses to fight like Roy.
Like Mosley, hmm I think he is more of a mix of a few boxers.

For any one to say that Kessler smashed him is kidding themselves. Mundine proved Kesslers greatest test to this day. And for any one to say Kessler went into this fight with an injury, is seriously a Kessler nut hugger. No fighter in this generation goes into a fight injured, especially the top fighters, theres to much to lose. And Kesslers manager is to smart to bring him into the ring, at anything less than 110% health.

Im a pretty good scorer. And Kessler won this fight by 2 rounds. 2 of my friends agreed with me, the other friend said it was 3 rounds to Kessler. I will say it now and say it again, Mundine has all the potential to be a star in this sport.

He only had 4 amateur fights. And im sure in his next few fights we will see a boxer at his peak.

Mundine has improved since that last outing. Im confident he could beat Kessler in a rematch.
Kessler did have a back injury, and the fight date had to be pushed a month.. Don't you remember?
He did have back surgery once already in his career.
Fact is, he didn't resume sparring until 8 days before the fight, and was far from his best. A five week break in preparations does matter; you must be an idiot to think otherwise.

I think mundine is done now anyways - especially if the press had you believe his licked-eye is as bad they make out...

The link doesn't work for me... It takes forever to load. I've seen almost all of kesslers fights. But I wanted to see this link because my computer crashed I don't have all his fights anymore. Though if I remember correctly, I thought this fight was closer then what cityofgod is claiming. I thought Mundine also landed some nice shots, Kessler won. But the topic creator makes it sound like Kessler destroyed Mundine... I don't think that was the case if I remember correctly. Kesslers best performance to date was probably against the iron chin of Andrade.

I think 30 million is exaggerated. I would have it around 10 million.
No 30 sounds about right. All his fights have been on PPV in Australia. Plus live gate.

Me the idiot? Look at the combinations Kessler let go during that fight, and tell me if he was limited. Because he threw some good combinations, and there was no sign of a back injury. Sure he had surgery, but they he would have fully recovered. Don't believe the 8 day thing, more like 21 days. Stop trying to discredit Mundine for fighting a good fight.

Im sure the basis for Calzaghes study on Kessler, largely revolves around the Mundine fight.

Kessler had a back problem for this fight, but still went in against the much-improved and slippery mundine for a shut out.

See how Mundine gets on his bike at the first hint of kess's power.

I think there will be an upset on the cards with the Welsh Dragon being extinguished.............. !

Just to compound my points. I watched the fight for the second time in two days lol. And i see it as a close fight. Did anyone else think it was the super middlweight fight of the year for 2005? Also kessler was ecstatic when he won, he was unsure he even retained the title.

I've always given Mundine credit on this forum. I do believe he is the only other proven fighter in the top 5, besides the two at the top spots.

But I know Kessler well enough to say the work rate sucks in that fight, compared to his standards.. He doesn’t throw half as much as he's used to.
He looks a bit tired in the corner as well.

Kessler was forced to make the fight happen. He wasn't mandatory when he got it, and WBA would have striped him if the Mundine fight wasn't made in a hurry..

                      110% - sure..
