You know, you said something I find interesting. I am really a heavy metal person first and foremost, that listens to alot of classical music, and some (hard) jazz, and a bit of blues. I love music, so I keep my ears open just in case I find something new that may fall out of those catagories.
I must say I detest hip-hop ever since that damn Master P and all the other southern rappers have become popular. The kind of rap that I would prefer to listen to usually has a socio-political edge like Public Enemy. I also really like Big Daddy Kane, Eric B +Rakim, and Cypress Hill.
Obviously, most of those artists are from the east coast and that was quite along time ago that some of them had "hits." Anyway, I just don't understand the southern rap explosion of popularity.
All I see and hear is mumble-mouths bouncing or dancing while they talk about their teeth, shoes, some ****ty drink that gets you "crunk," soup, leg injuries, and of course...the ode to the big-booty ho, and the little ditty about the cash.
I assume that if someone is really serious about their love for hip-hop, that they must really keep tuned in to certain websites, and they probally do alot of disc burning and sharing of underground rappers?Comment

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. I agree that the east coast sound is much prefered to my ears. Some of the old west coast stuff with N.W.A. was really incredible, the first Ice Cube solo record excelent, and a couple others that I can't recall right now.Comment
