Kelly Pavlik - Another "IF" thread

Other than obvious "intelligent" threads some BScene members manage to create, there is nothing I hate more than the "What If" threads

    What if Hatton Wins...
    What if Mayweather wins...
    What if, what if...

Kelly Pavlik has very good power... 31 wins, 28 by KO.
Kelly, has never fought anyone at Taylor's level, granted... But he didn't seem to struggle with his past competition either.

So the big IF question is...

IF Pavlik KOs Taylor, would he crack the top 10 P4P?

Shall that happen, I think it will make him FOTY.. even over Hatton/Mayweather.
Mayweather is the heavy favorite in both DLH/Hatton fights and IS expected to win..

Beating DLH and Hatton is more accomplished than beating Miranda/Taylor. Heck beating Castillo and Mayweather is more accomplished than beating Miranda/Taylor. It depends on where Kelly is right now, is he in the top 20 at this point and time? If so he will inch closer and closer but I don't know if it will be top 10 quite yet though. You will have to give credit where it is do, that would be one hell of a year for the "Ghost".

i wouldnt even put him in my top 10 P4P! I have Vazquez at 10, and hes just coming off that win over Marquez who was probably a top 3 p4p guy.

      He'd be close though.

If he knocks him out yes I would because Taylor is the guy who took down the p4p king, and whether you like it or not he still hasn't lost. Miranda was favored against him, and was considered a top contender. He destroyed him, if he does something similar to Taylor then yeah he's in my top ten.

I don't think thats going to happen, but its possible. Taylor is the most unpredictable fighter, but he does fight to his competition.

If he beats taylor he should be p4p. I mean he would be an undefeated champion with wins against two good fighters. I think that alone grants you a spot on the p4p list. I mean he won't be number one of course. Maybe 9 or 10

Once again... Mayweather is the heavy favorite in both fights and IS expected to win, where Pavlik is the big underdog in both Miranda and Taylor fights.

He already KOed Miranda.. and if he manages to KO Taylor.. that's a much greater achievement for the "contender" Pavlik.

beating hatton yes but not Oscar. Oscar had fought once in two years when he fought Floyd. Taylor got the decision over King Hopkins and p4p# 3 guy Winky. So KO'ing or beating the living **** out of him would def put him at the 10 spot or at the least a fringe p4p guy

Oscar had all the stipulations of the fight did he not? The fight was the biggest money making fight in the history of boxing was it not? Hatton is a prime top 10 p4p rated fighter and ring magazine number 1 ranked jr. welter is he not? I wasn't talking about p4p rankings I was talking about you saying Pavlik would garner the FOTY because of beating Taloyr and Miranda.

Who cares where he would be 'P4P.' Everybody knows he'd be the best middleweight and the deserving legitimate middleweight champion.

That's something to consider quite highly IMO.
