Nah, it could've easily came off that way. I just think there's a racist undertone to this thread, "why aren't any white Americans world champs?". What kind of question is that if not a question of race and nationality? It came off to me as a putdown to white American fighters across the Country, who aren't world champs yet but still get out of bed every morning at 5AM and run 10 miles, then goto the gym and hit the heavy bag and speed bag for a few hours, then get in the ring and spar for an hour. Then they come home and do it all over again the next day.
But they suck because they aren't world champs yet.Comment

Same here I was like "Why the hell should it matter if a white american is champ or not." Wow you are taking the words right out of my mouth man why should any boxer be faulted for not being a champion when they work as hard as they do and most have jobs on the side while they still try to accomplish their goals. Some people need to really think about some of the things they ask, or how they view the sport and race in general.Nah, it could've easily came off that way. Well, for a very long time now U.S. boxing has been dominated by blacks and hispanics. It's tradition and it's demographics also. Russians have only white boxers and Cubans have almost always black boxers. I think in the last olympics Russia had more gold medals than Cuba, I may be wrong on this one. In the long run Cuba has produced far better boxers but Boxing is # 2 sport in Cuba and they have a sick program and no money to worry about. In Russia, the mafia pays their gold medal winner 1,000,000. That's why Russian amateur boxers who have tasted medals don't have much of an incentive to turn pro. Cubans simply can't.Comment
