This is such a rediculous card. First of all, Why Tarver isnt fight Dawson seems weak to me. He backed out cause of some Arena problems or some ****.

But Dawson and Tarver, both guys who should probably be fighting the best at the division now, Tarver should get some good paydays before he retires (how old is he?) and Dawson and his people both says hes very ready for the best.

**** the showtime people, man. i just happened to order showtime hoping to see some good fight. why the hell they scrap a Cintron- Margarito potential fight and put in Tarver ? Tarver ? are u kidding me ? He's so freaking boring. They probably end up paying this card more than the Cintron card and it's wayyyyy worse than the CIntron card. Dont know what the hell they're thinking. damn these showtime people

I guess they never really could decide who Cintron would face either fight would be entertaining (Margarito or Clottey)

good that the guy originally supposed to face Kermit on the Mayorga/Vargas undercard finally gets his chance.

i mean its a solid name ... better than waffling back and forth between Clottey and Margarito.

*any chance Margarito gets to fight De La Hoya in May of 2008.

because in the past several weeks .. we've seen articles announcing

Kermit Cintron defending his title December 1, in a rematch vs Margarito ... then fast forward to a week or 2 later

Kermit Cintron defending his title December 1 on showtime vs Joshua Clottey who is ranked in the top 10 by every major boxing organization

granted the time period of when these announcements were made maybe off, but the point im trying to make is if Showtime got a solid commitment/contract for lets say a Cintron-Margarito rematch ... im sure they would have gotten that fight no problem (as in slotted for December 1 oppose to losing it to Tarver and Vernon Forrest)

you'd think that Clottey or Margarito would jump at a chance to fight for the IBF title on a tv date.

I wonder what broke down.

Just no explanation for this at all. So what if Tarver is a somewhat big name. There was a point not too long ago where they were showing HBO up. With the exception of Marquez/Vasquez, this last year has been bad.

its just a shame .. that neither Clottey or Margarito got the December 1st date to face Cintron

then again is it possible that Cintron backed out? cuz obviously it takes 2 to sign a contract

what if Kermit didn't really pursue the Margarito match, and instead favored his original opponent for September 8th.

I know Marg is the bigger fight ... but is the above at least tangable? cuz no way Margarito or Clottey would turn down a title shot on network TV.
