In other WBO news, the Championship Committee has agreed to sanction the October 13 lightweight unification bout between WBO/WBA Champion Juan Diaz and IBF Champion Julio Diaz, on the condition that the winner agree within ten days to defend against interim champion Michael Katsidis within 120 days. If after the ten days no commitment is received from the Diaz-Diaz winner, Katsidis will automatically become the WBO lightweight champion.

Winner of DIAZ-DIAZ MUST Face Katsidis
interesting, but i saw this happening. If Juan beats Julio and the money is right i think he will fight katsidis. IF they dont like what they see then i guess they will just vacate.Tags: None -
Katsidis is a contender at 135, but with those guys fighting for the title (proper title) seeing as casamayor is pretty much retired they should be cut some slack. katsidis can fight raheem, d.diaz, chavez, freitas, all guys who would make him a top contender rather than a good prospect. -
Actually the winner of this fight has to fight Nate Campbell. He's been the mando for Julio Diaz for the longest. He's been avoided by both Diaz's & Casamayor isn't in any rush to fight him either.Comment

The fight will combine 3 belts, but there's only mandatory at a time that the winner can fight. Either Nate Campbell or Katsidis will be left out in the cold...
Isn't Campbell a King fighter, like Diaz? I'm guessing Katsidis waits in line to fight them or he just enjoys his belt and fights WBO mandatories to keep it...Comment
