    Juan diaz's power

I've recently been taking interest in baby bull juan diaz, and when i looked at his record it seems he doesnt have that much power as his ko record isn't all that good. But i found this training clip of him and it looks as if he hits quite hard and im wondering if he were to hit like like early wether he would be known as a bigger puncher.
heres a link to the clip, the bit with im hitting the shield starts a few minutes in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkWOG7UGss8

Diaz put's his entire body into his punches, it really baffles me how he doesn't have no power and fights the way he does. He looks like he is hitting that pretty hard because he is putting his body into it, he can't hit to knock you out cold but he does hit to where you feel the shots.

His shots hurt you over time. It's really amazing how accurate he is on a consistent basis. he hammers his opponents but for some reason his shots aren't as powerful as they look.

yeah i noticed that, he hits with what looks like real fast hard hooks but they hardly have no effect on his opponents. I wonder if his power will increase as he gets older and wiser with his shots because he's only 22 somthing so is real young for a world champ.

Yeah maybe but he will have more TKO's for sure. He just chops you down like a tree. He kicked Cotto's brother ass.

Here's a video I made of Juan working out:

It opens with a drill practicing his power body shots. Note this was during training for Freitas, hence Shields is training him.

He's just not naturally gifted with power. This is an good example at how you can have all the technique and stamina in the world.Yet you still dont hit hard, just sounds like you do. Yet a Mayorga if he hits you with one of those wild shots, could ko you.

This is one guy that I wish had power.

his lower back and legs have like no muscle at all. but the irony of it is, if he did tone his body up, i dont think he'd be nearly as durable as he is now.

every fight he fights though, toward the end of the bout...his opponents look like their ready to die or fall asleep due to punishment and fatigue.

I think he has plenty of power, he just doesnt really catch people flush when he puts that much power behind his shots. I think hes improving his technique in that respect though, it certainly worked against Freitas.
