Yea, Archie had a way of talking (writing) that was kind of like poetry to me. He didnt just tell you something or say something....he conveyed it in a way that was smooth and almost melodic

Thanks for sharing that with us all, your'e very lucky. I found it fascinating to get an insight as to how he thought and perceived the world. You can't put a price on something like that. Some of it has really made me think, and look at my own life. Thanks again for one of the best threads I have read.

Amazing ...It is just unreal to me some times when I get a chance to read the true thoughts or be given information on these people that I grew up reading about or watching, can't thank you enough.
I have some boxing mags that have pics of Archie when he was at Liston and Tyson's camps.
In the Tyson one he is sitting watching Tyson workout and in his eyes it looks to me as if he was still watching and looking for any thing he himself could learn but at the same time he looks as if he would jump right in there with Tyson and go all out with him even then.
One thing that I very much respected of him was when George Foreman told a story during a Roy Jones fight of how Archie Moore told Foreman never to arm punch and not to drag out the damage to your opponent , if you can knock him out then do it.
That's by no means word for word but the point was that if you sit and play with someone for a full 10/12/15 rounds there is a better chance that you will do serious physical harm to them and the job is to win and not to maim.

He wrote one called THE ARCHIE MOORE STORY. There is also a bio on him called THE AGELESS WONDER that quotes me in it in reference to him

I willcopy more letters of his to me when I get the chance. Also, what is real cool is that in every letter he included something cool...like little index cards he had printed up up for figths with Durelle, etc
