Who are you taking for the Contender

Gotta pick Brian Vera, he's the hometown guy. I've seen him fight a few times, he has a decent chance actually.

The only time I saw him was his fight against Samuel Miller... I thought the scoring on that fight was a little off, it was close though.

the contender has some good even competition and i personally cant pick someone to win...

but my heart wants to see david banks get some glory due to the fact he has a lot of heart and determination (i base this on the fact he taught himself alone how to box...that tells you he really wants to win) im in know way thinking he will win it all...i'd just like to see him do decent.

he's (in my opinion) arguably the biggest underdog at the moment.

however (using my brain again) obviously their are some big names in the contender this year and its going to be great. you should all expect to see the fighters putting a strong emphisis on rough and tough fights (its the direction sugar ray and company are looking for).

the sparring with mora and manfredo was (in my opinion) one of the best parts of the opener for this contender season.

Not really.

It's a pretty strong lineup actually, but it's tough to look past Soliman and Bika. The last thing anyone will want is to face Bika as with so many fights in a short period of time you REALLY don't want to be cut.

Bika is usually awkward and tough for the first half of the fight anyway, so these five rounders seem right up his alley. I dont see Solimon making it...
