LONG hair is a DISADVANTAGE in a fight

    IMO.

Im watching PACQUIAO-LEDWABA now, and everytime Ledwaba lands a stiff jab the crowd oo's and ah's.

Not because he's landing the harder shots, not even close, but because Pacquiaos hair flys everwhere and it makes it look like a big shot instead of what it really is. If it goes to the scorecards, the fighter with the long hair could be at a disadvantage.

Never thought about it like that, you can definitely tell everytime he gets hit because his hair will flail.

Well I can speak personally that as a guy with long hair, anytime I've ever kicked someone's ass they went to pull it.

Absolutly long hair is a disadvantage, which is why you rarley see a boxer with long hair.

Another good example of this was Chris Byrd in the McCline fight (I think) Byrd was pissed at the SD because he thought he clearly won, and whenever he got hit, that was magnified by his dreadlocks going in crazy directions.

if we can figure out that hair going everywhere doesn't really mean its a huge punch, don't you think the judges can?

No. We're talking about guys like Duane Ford, Jerry Roth, Chuck Giampa, etc... here. They couldn't even tell Oscar beat Trinidad's ass for 8 straight rounds.

Roberto Duran in a classic example.

And having Long Hair is like having a power meter for your opponent right there on your head!!!

It is a cool look though, and the fights a bit more exciting when the shots look like they are bigger
